You may wish to request a reference from us, either for a new employer, or for other reasons (such as a mortgage, rental property, child tax credits, etc.), or you may get asked to provide a reference for another member of the team.
There are lots of things to consider when giving a reference - they must be true, accurate and fair, so if you do get asked to provide a reference for someone, please direct this request to the payroll department. Don't complete the reference request yourself.
If you require a reference for another employer, please ask them to email payroll directly as we can't give verbal references. We won't normally refuse to give a reference, as we know this may be detrimental to your future employment, but we may decide to only confirm basic information such as your start and end dates and your job title.
Where we are asked by you to provide a reference in relation to something else, we'll do our best to ensure this reference is accurate, but any details contained in references of this nature do not constitute proof of any terms or conditions of employment - only your contract, or any variations issued to you, detail all the terms and conditions of your employment.
Certain social media pages, such as LinkedIn, have the facility to endorse or recommend someone - we ask that you don't do this as it may be construed as us providing a reference for that person.
