Long produced in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, Mont Corbier is now made in Chambéry. It is a beautiful amber liqueur made from alpine plants macerated in alcohol. There are wild and medicinal species such as hyssop, vulneraria and gentian. It was invented in 1888 by Father Guille, a passionate botanist and doctor to the poor who collected his "herbs" with medicinal properties on Mont Corbier, in the Maurienne valley.

Anchored for nearly 100 years in the history of the Dominican Republic, the Barcelo distillery has launched the creation of a platform that integrates the entire production process with the aim of reducing the impact on the environment. Today this platform provides Barcelo with a carbon neutral activity. They also offset the rest of the emissions through involvement in various environmental projects around the world.
It was in 2016 that 150 hectares of the oldest sugar cane fields on the island began their rehabilitation, in order to erase all traces of fertilizer. These fields are close to the distillery in order to limit transport, but also close to a river in order to benefit from irrigation and natural soil fertilization. During fermentation, organic yeasts are used before the juices are distilled and aged between 2 and 5 years in new American oak barrels in order to strictly follow organic standards.
