The number of participating students in the first class is 68 and in the second class 70 including the students of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, in Wuhan, China.
Both classes are holding for two hours (all together 4 h.).
・At the First class, I made a lecture about Brexit from the legal viewpoint and its influence of the relationship between Japan and the EU.
・Its contents are as follows,
1 Introduction – Relationship between Japan and the UK
2 Withdrawal from the EU recognized in TEU as the right of the Member-States
3 Brexit from Legal Viewpoint
4 Negotiation and Accomplishment of Brexit
5 Summary - What the European Integration is.
・I explained the historical relationship between Japan and the UK. Japanese diplomacy to European countries is always developed by centering on the UK. But after Brexit, Japanese government, esp. the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan must reconsider the diplomacy to the EU and the UK. But now the attitude of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to the UK is not changed, only separately developing the diplomatic policy to the EU and the UK. For Japan, the UK is also still an important country among the European countries. As a result, On the October 2020, the Japan-UK Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement was concluded separately from the EPA/SPA between Japan and the EU of 2019.
・After my explanation, some students asked me of their questions, and I answered them for about 30 minutes. Many questions were about the time sequence of the relationship between the UK and the EU (the EC) . I explained it in detail from joining the UK to the EC on 1973 to the withdrawal of the UK from the EU on the 31 January 2020.
・ Many participating students are satisfied with my explanation and its contents.
・At the second class, I made a lecture about the Relationship between animation (Manga) and Japanese Society.
・Its contents are as follows,
1 Introduction - Starting point of Japanese Animation
2 Animation in Japanese Society at the 20th Century.
3 Animation of Japanese films
4 Animation at the 21st Century - its Development as Japanese Pop Culture
5 Summary - Current Tendencies of Japanese Manga under COVID-19
・I explained the history of Japanese animation from the 12th Century to the modern period. And after W.W.II, Japanese animation was developed with counteracting the animation of the US, esp. Disney animation. But during the period of high economic growth in Japan, the contents and technique of Japanese Manga were becoming the development originally. In general, Japanese Manga is always reflecting the situation of Japanese society, therefore people can know the current Japanese society by watching Japanese Manga as a typical Pop-Culture.
・After my explanation, some foreign students ask me of significance of leaning Japanese Pop-Culture. And my answer is that people can learn the spiritual mind and character of Japanese people, when you consider the concept of Japanese animation.
