Outreach Lectures Series③

・On the 8th October 2020, the Outreach Lecture to General Public at the Class of Citizen's University Courses in Amagasaki-City was held. Prof. Dr. INOUE has made the lecture, whose theme is "Current Situation and the Future of the European Union".

・The lecture of ”Current situation and the Future of the EU” at the Class of Citizen’s College Courses in Amagasaki-City, Large Hall of Amagasaki Mukonishi Shogaigakusyu Plaza, 13:30-15:30, on the 8th October 2020, (the number of audience=28)

・This Lecture explained the EU in turmoil and its factors as follows. Populism based on the European Skepticism is prevailing in Member States. Especially in Poland, Hungary and other States in Eastern Europe, populist parties acquire the majority in their National Assemblies and such States are resisting against the politics and basic values of the EU. How can the EU treat with such resistance forces? How can the public order in the EU be restored and maintained? By using the method of the modern constitutionalism provided on the Fundamental Treaties of the EU, it can exhibit its resilience.

・Outcome; Through the questionnaire after this lecture, 25 participants (approximate 90%) answered "satisfaction with this lecture". Other 3 participants answered "interesting in the content of this Lecture, but a little bit difficult to understand it". I think that I could achieve the purpose of this lecture of prevailing the knowledge about the current situation and the restoring force of the EU over the senior public.

・As the result of high rate of satisfaction, the administrative staff of the Citizen's College Courses in Amagasaki-city requests to me for continuing this lecture series next year as the same of the last year.
