Special Activities①

The Annual Intensive Camp of EUIJ Kansai on the 20th and 21st December 2019 in Rokkohoyousoh.(Nunber of participanted students: 23)

・This Camp was held in order to increase the interest in the EU amongst undergraduate and graduate students who resister in the EUIJ Certificate Program and KUPES, or those who consider registering for these Programmes. During this Camp, special lectures on the EU will be given, and students will discuss the lectures' contents and present their findings and conclusion to demonstrate their level of understanding in English. 

・As the opening remark, Prof. Dr. INOUE made an introduction EU Institute Japan, Kansai (EUIJ Kansai) and explanation of the activities of EUIJ kansai the participating students. After such remark, Prof. Dr. INOUE made the first lecture concerning the current situation and some issues of the EU, its title "Constitutionalism beyond national-border as the universal value". After the dinner interval, Prof. Dr. YOSHI made the second lecture concerning also the current situation from the economic viewpoint of the EU, its title "Should Germany take a fiscal stimulus? ".

・After two lectures, students divided into four research groups, prepared for the presentations of each group and made the slides of power-point in order to make a presentation at the last session of this Camp. Prof. Dr. Inoue and Yoshi gave their supports to the students.

・On the afternoon of the 21st December, four research groups made their presentations in English. The Theme of the first groups was about the current situation of the EU and it presented the consideration of recovery of the fluctuation in the EU from the viewpoint of legal science. The theme of the second group was about appropriateness of German fiscal stimulus and it presented such action affirmatively. The theme of third group was the impact of Brexit on the U.K. and Japan from the economic viewpoint. And the theme of the fourth group was about the problems of prevailing the populism in Poland from the viewpoint of Constitutional Law. 

・I think that the students made a good effort to prepare for their presentation and make presentations in spite of the sort time of this Camp. Although there were some problems in each presentation, all four presentations reflected their efforts of the students.
