1) Espeluznante for 10 TCS
I dont' know what the captains were thinking when they just let Espel go for 10. I mean, he had a pretty solid season with Poost Office the past season, and he's only getting better. Compared to how much other offenders went for, getting Espel for like half of those prices is solid.
2) Jerry + blackberry for 20 TCs
Getting Jerry. for 19 TCs is a big steal, because while there are always availability concerns for Euros, he's still a top NLTP offender in the league. Check S17 and S18 for that. blackberry for just 1 TC is wild, because she's a pretty solid offender and I thought other captains would've tried going for her. But to get that offensive duo for 20% of JARVIS's budget is a good get.
3) slime_god for 9 TCs
I have been a fan of slime_god for a while, ever since I saw him play back in S14 on POGGERS. He's pretty great on the prevent-side of the ball, which allows Cobra to continue his return-based playstyle. Cobra at 38 TCs was fair value, but getting his D partner from last season for 1/4 of that? Big get there.
4) King~Zion for 0 TCs
There were a bunch of 0 TC picks made in the draft (like I said in the Auction Draft tab, there were 16), but out of all of them, Zion stood out the most to me. I think it's because he's the one who has the most potential and highest ceiling out of all of them. He has the mechanics, and the awareness seems to be there as well. I'll be looking at his season with great interest.
REACHES
1) anduin for 70
anduin ended up being the most expensive pick of the auction draft, and let me tell you, I didn't expect that. It's not like I think he's a bad player, he's actually good, but I felt like there were better defensive options that went cheaper. Spending 70 TCs, which was like 75% of your budget, on a defender only works if that defender is for sure the best defender in the draft, but I don't think that's the case here.
2) Trituin for 39
Trituin is finally getting his chance to play on A-Team, but he's going to be on Chicago. I checked his ping that he listed on the Draft Packet, and it said that he got 90 to Chicago. Spending 39 TCs for a Centra defender to play on Chicago is not really a plan for success, especially since Makin Bacon, his partner, went for just 31 TCs. If he was playing on Dallas, I'd see this as a fair value, but in his situation, it reall isn't.
3) Oink Oink for 0
Why? Like, why? Oink Oink isn't one of the best B-Teamers this season. He's just a decent B-Teamer, but you don't draft decent B-Teamers as your 5th ball in the auction. It's wild that I'm putting a 0 TC pick as a reach here, but that's how egregious this pick is. Oink would've probably gone in the fourth or fifth round of the snake, maybe 3rd based on this season.
4) Activ. for 50
How did I go for 50, just how? 5 TNISH season, how do I only go for 3 TCs less than what I went for S19? Let me go for cheap please, I don't want to deal with high expectations. Also I might be playing defense and 50 TCs for me to play defense is a huge stretch, no matter what the scenario is.
