This auction draft was way different than last time. For one, there were six captains that ended the draft with 20+ TCs left over. It just seemed that many captains were hesitant on spending a lot of TCs, which can either be chalked up to a weaker draft with only a few surefire talents that warranted spending big on, or just reluctance to deviate from their own draft plan.

The auction took two hours to complete, so it took, on average, two minutes for each pick to be made, which is honestly a very solid pace. For comparison, the majors draft took two hours to draft forty players, and the minors draft took more than two hours to draft forty more players, so that's an average of five minutes per pick, so the NLTP auction was way more efficient.

Another big difference was in how many players went for 0 TCs. Back in S19 you had eight players go for 0 TCs, but this season there were fifteen players, so almost double. That can be attributed to the 5th ball TC values, which had only three go for 0 last season, but this season had nine players go for zilch. It's a stark contrast, that's for sure.

With the CRC allowing for teams to opt-in to "all-Central" teams, I was expecting a lot more teams with a mixed East / West Coast composition, but there weren't a lot of teams that tried to take advantage of it. Trituin, llamatron, OD GOD, and juke juice were the only players who I felt ended up on a roster on the other side of the country, but meh what can you do there.

Finally, the biggest difference for me was how many players are A-Team rookies. Out of the 12 teams here, seven of them have at least one A-Team rookie, and there are actually two teams that are only A-Team rookies (NIP / BAP). There were 16 A-Team rookies taken this draft. By comparison, there were only 6 A-Team rookies taken in last season's draft, which is wild. That's almost three times as many A-Team rookies, but I guess that's what happens in a weak season with not a lot of strong, proven A-Teamers.

Overall, this was an interesting auction draft rife with steals, overspends, overreactions, and captains not understanding the rules of the NLTP Auction draft (JARVIS you can't bid 0 on someone and win them, that's not how this works). This just means that I'm going to have a tough time gauging which players are A-Team ready. Hooray.
