Long Night

About 50 years in the past, darkness attacked the planet of the Ilmatar, devastating it's people and killing many. Those that escaped through the portals, warning the other species of the darkness that ravaged their world and home. It wasn't long until the darkness started to go after the other planets. One by one they started to be enveloped in the darkness. Those that managed to escape, ended up on the frontier world. When the darkness started to attack it, that is when the Sovereigns stepped up. Sacrificing themselves to create a barrier, to protect those that were still alive and also, in hopes of giving them time to figure out how to combat this darkness and recover the worlds that had been lost to it.
