Character creation in Nexus Unbound involves several key steps to build a unique character:
1. Choose a Character Concept
Choose weather your character is from the Last Frontier(background will need to be approved by the Plot team) or came thru a portal from a different reality(Elruna).
Make a Character background: This can be as simple as a description like healer, warrior or this could be complicated as a 100-page back story. Having a character concept will help you choose the appropriate Abilities that will make your character more than numbers on a page. 2. Choose a Species
Nexus Unbound offers a diverse selection of eight playable species, each with unique characteristics, cultures, and abilities:
Constructs: Sentient beings built through magic or technology.
Diethelm (Dwarves): Skilled miners and crafters, living in a matriarchal society.
Fae: A diverse group encompassing various mythical creatures, each with distinct physical traits and abilities.
Humans: Known for their adventurous spirit and defying the odds.
Ilmatar: A tall, androgynous species known for their peaceful nature and ability to change their appearance for camouflage.
Mutants: Individuals who have been altered by magical or technological energies, resulting in physical deformities.
Revenants: Undead beings of various origins, retaining some characteristics of their former species.
Siofra (Elves): Agile and perceptive beings who are skilled hunters and archers.
3. Allocate Skill Points, Endemic Skills and Feats, and Paths
All characters begin with 75 Skill Points to spend on various skills and path feats, providing a foundation for their abilities and expertise. Additionally, each species has endemic skills and feats that grant them unique abilities related to their nature and origins. For example, Siofra have the Detect Magic skill, while Humans have Identify Tech.
4. Distribute Stat Points
Characters have 4 Stat Points to allocate across four primary stats:
Strength: Affects melee and ranged damage.
Intelligence: Influences magic power.
Constitution: Determines health.
Dexterity: Improves dodge and armor.
5. Determine Starting Health
All characters start with a base health of 10. Health can be increased by allocating stat points to Constitution and through purchases within the Body path.
Key Considerations:
Character background: This will help you Make your character feel like a real person other than just stats on a sheet
Species Choice: The choice of species significantly impacts a character's starting skills, feats.
Skill Point Allocation: Wisely spending skill points on skills and path feats is crucial for developing a well-rounded and effective character.
Stat Point Distribution: The distribution of stat points determines a character's strengths and weaknesses in physical and mental abilities.
By carefully considering these steps, players can craft engaging characters that fit their desired playstyle and contribute to the rich tapestry of Nexus Unbound.
