Siofra (pronounced shee-fra) is the name of the Elves. The Siofra come from the lush world of Daithi ( Daithi & Reidh ), named so after one of their gods. It is abundant with both thick flora and fauna, more forest and trees than wide-open planes and seas. Even their major city is high in the trees of a migrating forest that creeps along slowly around its world. As such, they have developed longer ears for sensitive hearing, better vision for hunting at night, and a smaller frame averaging around 4 to 5 ft tall for ease of getting through their ever-changing home. Before the longes night the Siofra would engage in trade via the portals, exchanging foods of various types, herbals medicine, seeds, and various wooden trinkets polished so well they shine like stone. Many Siofra keep various animals that are good for hunting as companions.
Homeworld Siofra tend to be guarded at first meeting, but polite. They are slightly skittish in wide open spaces, preferring the shadows and shade of trees and forest, but become friendly and welcoming, believing life is too short to worry about every little thing or person, after getting a feel for a person. However, if a person gains their ire the wild Siofra are quick to act and just as quick to draw weapons.
In contrast the Teorainn who grew up on the Frontier are much friendlier to new people, yet still retain the initial wariness around strangers. They do open up quicker if a trade can be done. They are far more patient and less likely to become combative over an offense than their wilder brothers and sisters, choosing to wait and see if the person made an honest mistake or not. If not, they will remember and likely said offender will find their retaliation much later in some form or another. Teorainn prefer the slower patient approach to things and giving people a chance to make amends.
However, the Siofra on the Frontier named the Teorainn, chose to stay in the Frontier and enacted a ritual that allowed them to adapt to the lands there easier. They became stationary and languid as they congregated in an older settlement town near the forest: a home their brethren had started long ago when they first made contact with the portal makers. This village ,now named Reidh Village , soon became a bustling farming town, on the edge of the Infinite Forest , which they named after their second god Reidh ( Daithi & Reidh ) a call back to their homeworld. The Teorainn have become a bit taller, averaging around 5 to 6 ft, sturdier, and somewhat rotund since they aren't migrating as much. They act as watchers and runners whenever something came from the forest, be it friend or foe. They have a small thriving market town in the major city of Heroes Sacrifice as well that acts as a home away from home away from home world whenever a runner bares news of something from the forest. These Siofra have developed more crafts to compensate for their loss of trade goods, still relying on wood works, farming, and messengers to make coin. The Frontier Siofra retain their need for companions on the Frontier but choose more languid, home oriented pets that are good for keeping pests and robbers away from their farms.
With the Siofra already having Reidh Village they had a place to fall back. Reidh was already well established so a lot of the panic was not felt there. Other than not being able to trade off world not much did change except for the higher authority they answered to. This changed to The Council in Heroes Sacrifice .
