It being still a bit chilly to venture out and about in the countryside, an evening listening to some classic rock music from the 1970s seemed a good idea instead so we got tickets for The Spirit of Bad Company & Free show at Eastwood Theatre on a Saturday evening.
The show is dedicated to reproducing the classic songs sung by Paul Rodgers throughout his career with both Free and Bad Company from the late 60's to early 80s.
It was a good night and the band were excellent musicians who played a great range of tracks over the evening. It's currently a six-piece band and, with the encore, we got about two hours of music with great vocals and guitar playing and even a bit of a drum solo mixed in.
The band also had some video cameras around the stage, which the lighting guy used pretty effectively to feed into the often psychedelic visuals used as a backdrop.
Eastwood Theatre is a nice venue with comfy seats, a coffee shop and a bar but the stewards were very restrictive on anyone taking photos or videos but we managed to get a couple more photos before rebuked...
Many thanks to Raymond Kerr for organizing the tickets for the show and to the guys that drove us all there and back.
