Still feeling a bit salty after out trip to the Royal Yacht Britannia, a bunch of the lads went over to Balloch for a short cruise on Loch Lomond, which, with a surface area of 27.5 square miles, is the largest body of fresh water in Great Britain. It sits in the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, the fourth largest national park in the British Isles with an area of 720 square miles.
The paddle steamer Maid of the Loch still being out of action and only offering hard-hat tours involving some climbing about while it's in dry dock for refurbishment, we opted for the Sweeney's Cruise Co., operating from Loch Lomond Shores. Sweeney's could accommodate our numbers and have been offering cruises on Loch Lomond since the 1880s. There are other providers offering loch cruises and some of these are listed at the bottom of this article.
Here are a few pics taken on board the boat and it looks like everyone enjoyed the cruise.
Afterwards, the lads headed for a bit of lunch and some had a wander around to Balloch Castle.
