These incredible cookies are classic chocolate chip cookies with a delightful surprise—they’re stuffed with creamy Nutella hidden inside. No chill time is needed, and they bake in under 15 minutes. They offer the perfect balance of chewy cookie and molten chocolate center. This recipe makes 12 delicious cookies that are perfect for sharing (or not!).
2 cups all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
¾ cup white sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup chocolate chips
¼ cup Nutella (chocolate-hazelnut spread)
¼ cup milk (optional, to adjust dough consistency)
Prepare Nutella filling: Drop 12 heaping teaspoons of Nutella onto parchment paper, place on a plate or tray, and freeze for about 1 hour until solid.
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
Cream wet ingredients: In another large bowl, beat together the white sugar, brown sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Make the dough: Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. If the dough feels too dry or crumbly, mix in a tablespoon or two of milk to soften.
Shape cookies: Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Flatten each piece into a disc. Remove the Nutella from the freezer, place one frozen Nutella dollop in the center of each disc, then fold the dough around it to seal completely. Roll gently into a ball.
Bake: Place cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely (if you can wait that long!).
Serve warm to enjoy the gooey Nutella center—perfect with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee.
Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Freeze: You can also freeze baked cookies for up to 3 months. Just thaw them at room temperature or warm them in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to enjoy their soft center again.
