A garlicky, sweet, and sticky salmon, this dish comes together in just about 15 minutes—perfect for a quick weeknight dinner that tastes like a restaurant special. It’s one of the most-loved salmon recipes, known for its flavor-packed glaze and easy preparation.
12 oz (≈340 g) salmon fillets (about 2–3 strips)
Salt & black pepper
1 pinch cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon warm water
1½ teaspoons apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ lemon, cut into wedges
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Season the salmon on both sides with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne. Set aside.
Make the glaze: In a small bowl, mix honey, warm water, and apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice) with a pinch of salt.
Sear the salmon: Heat an oven-safe skillet (like cast iron) over high heat. Add olive oil. Place the salmon skin-side down and sear for 1 minute. Flip and cook another minute, then flip back to skin-side down.
Add garlic: Toss the minced garlic into the skillet. Let it cook until it just starts to turn golden.
Glaze it: Pour the honey mixture into the skillet and add the lemon wedges. Let everything simmer for a couple of minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky.
Broil (optional): For a charred finish, transfer the skillet to the broiler for about 1 minute.
Finish: Sprinkle chopped parsley on top and serve immediately.
Serve this flavorful salmon with simple vegetable sides like steamed broccoli, roasted carrots, sautéed asparagus, green beans, or broccolini. It also pairs beautifully with jasmine rice, quinoa, or mashed potatoes to soak up the sticky glaze.
