Samsung Galaxy 5

I had a flip phone for years but work forced an upgrade in 2014 to test a mapping application that I was developing and testing. The Galaxy 5 had been around for a while and it had a 16 mp camera. Camera and phone with me all the time and that was great.

Thoughts and Hacks

Camera was always there as along as I remember to carry the phone.
Security using finger scan awful so I use a 4 digit number to unlock phone.
You can acquire a photo without unlocking but image is not gps tagged.
For most situations where you need a general photo the Galaxy 5 works great.
Telephoto and Macro camera it is not.
Great web camera and low resolution picture.

For a package deal Galaxy 5 is amazing. Great photos, instant Email, phone, and better than average word processing and spread sheets. Screen size a little small but camera is 16 mp so I have not upgraded.

Sadly the Galaxy 5 on/off button stopped working in April 2021. Repair was not possible so upgraded to Galaxy 21+
