Vevor is the new kid on the block and I equate them to the Harbor Freight of pottery wheels. Tools that are not perfect but never totally die so they are replaced with something better. Let's face it, you can but 5 Vevor wheels for the same price as a Speedball Artista or Shimpo Aspire wheels with the same features.
I was impressed with the features found on all the Vevor wheels. Waterproof panel buttons for controlling wheel direction and lever or foot pedal (0-300 rpm) speed controls. A 450W brushless motor providing 0.6 horsepower and 60dB low noise. The ABS plastic splash pan is easy to attach and detach for cleaning. An aluminum wheel head ranging in size from 9.8 to 14".
Pros
Motor large enough to handle 30 to 50 lbs clay.
Designed for standup throwing where wheel is on a tall bench or counter. Standing is common for many potters with bad backs or do not want to sit when throwing.
Light weight so easy to transport and store.
Price
Cons
Cheap construction feel, but expected since they have to cut something to reduce price.
No bat pins holes. Agreed holes can be drilled so not a big deal.
Need to make a stand to elevate wheel for sit down throwing and hold tools. You will also need to make one for other wheels.
I like the 11 inch wheel because it is the same size as my Speedball wheel. I am leaning towards a 14" wheel because it would make a great trim wheel. After viewing several videos showing Jeremy Leach throwing with a outdoor view, I always thought it would be wonderful to have an outdoor wheel. Still thinking.
