My pottery will survive in a dishwasher. My glazes are glass based and melted to the pottery at high temperatures. The glass glaze surface of my pottery and for that matter all glassware may be etched by corrosive dishwasher detergents. The etching changes the glass from glossy to a matt finish. The items are still functional but prematurely aged by the dishwasher detergents.
