Like her siblings, Rozelah with her husband William Silsby started their family on a farm. In 1920, they lived with their 2 daughters on a farm near Gasport with William's widowed father. In 1930, they lived on the same farm, but William's father must have died. By 1940, the children had left and William was renting a farm after having had financial problems. Around 1942 at age 56/57, William went to work at Harrison Radiator, bought a house in Gasport (see below) a few years later, and retired in 1953 at 67/68. Rozelah died in 1980 from an accidental stove fire (see her obit). Rozelah and William had 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Rozelah and William Silsby lived on a farm and raised their daughters until sometime before 1940. In 1941/42 William went to work at Harrison Radiator. While working there he purchased the house above and retired about 10 years later. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in this home. Rozelah died from a stove fire and William lived to 100.

►Obituary: click to show/hide
✞Jeffery Scott Mallaber, aka “Jeffie Baby”, left this world on November 2, 2021. His battle with glioblastoma has finally ended, and he is free of pain and confusion as he happily takes his place in the beautiful realm of Heaven. Jeff was born on November 10th, 1958, in Washington, D.C., to Clayton Ward Mallaber and Marilyn Behe Mallaber. Jeff leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Allison Mallaber, of Waterford, Vermont. They met long ago at their place of work, Wonder Bread & Hostess Cake of Ocala, Florida. Jeff was smitten right from the first introduction to Allison, and Allison was head-over-heels for Jeffie. Jeff also leaves behind his three daughters, Elizabeth Bonasera (and husband Nate), Olivia Drechsel, son-in-law Christian Drechsel, all of Littleton, Colorado, and Alicia Mallaber of St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Nine grandchildren are now left without a Papa. From oldest to youngest, they are Jacob (JJ), Zoe, Samantha, Lana, Jadalynn, Julius, Jace, Isabelle, and Josephine (Josie). Jeff loved being a Papa, buying gifts, giving horsie-rides, reading books, and appropriately spoiling the grandchildren as only a Papa can do. He even introduced them to his invented gyrating, 2-fingered personality, “Captain Voot”!
Many relatives are mourning the loss of Jeff. His sister Julie Judy and her husband Ernie, Danielle and Chris Waymire, Krystal and Rod Cumbus, George and Diana Oram, James Oram, Dori and Bill Nanry, all of Florida, and Bev Doherty of Bedford, NH, many, many cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his son-in-law Jacob Mercer of California, his mother and father, Marilyn and Clayton Mallaber, and mother-in-law Elaine Oram Cornett, of Florida, and brother-in-law Dan Doherty of New Hampshire.
Although Jeff graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Criminal Justice, his real passion was for medicine. He attended the University of Colorado Health Sciences College, and earned a degree as a Physician Assistant. Jeff's love of medicine and helping people was where he shined. He spent almost 13 years working for Urology Associates in Denver, Colorado, and almost two years with The Rocky Mountain Men's Health Clinic before being diagnosed with glioblastoma.
Hiking in the Rocky Mountains with his family was an activity Jeff enjoyed. He spent time with his many dogs over the years, and even some cats. Jeff learned to love his wife's goats, sheep, chickens, and especially horses. His golf score never improved to competition level, but he did have a mean swing, and often played in the Denver area. He loved working out at the gym, swimming in oceans, lakes, and pools, and was known as “Runs With A Beer” after a close encounter with a shooter in a downtown Denver bar. Whether fishing in the ocean or a lake, Jeffie Baby could brag about his catches of enormous, toothy, man-eating fish with the best-of-them.
Jeff's generosity was a beautiful thing! He donated money to many charitable causes, and also took a personal interest in helping people in dire financial straits to pay their rent, buy groceries, and obtain much needed vehicles. Jeff's generosity was legendary. Jeff Mallaber is already greatly missed. If you have any stories about Jeff you'd like to share, please send them to Jeff Mallaber c/o 131 Lee Farm Road, St. Johnsbury, Vermont 05819. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to GoFundMe, “Jeff Mallaber's battle with brain cancer” or to “Spay Today” in Lakewood, Colorado. Site Name: Peters Dry Cleaning

DEC Site #: 932128
Site Address: 316 Willow Street; Lockport, NY 14095
Peters Dry Cleaning Update: Cleanup to Begin at Site
History: Peters Dry Cleaning has been operated as a dry cleaning facility since the late 1930s/early 1940s. Prior to its use as a dry cleaner, the facility was used as a clothing tailor shop. A Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) identified petroleum and chlorinated solvent contamination in the soil and groundwater at the Site. Two storage tanks were also identified during the ESA. Based on the findings of the Phase IT ESA, DEC assigned Spill No. 0475193 to the Site. The two storage tanks were identified at the Site include a 1,000-gallon aboveground storage tank (AST) and an abandoned 6,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST). Both tanks were used to store heating oil prior to the facility being connected with natural gas. In April 2005, the AST and UST were removed in accordance with a DEC approved February 2005 Work Plan. These activities are documented in a June 2005 Closure Report.
During the abandoned UST removal, approximately 2 cubic yards of petroleum contaminated material (sand) were removed from the Site that had previously been placed into the UST unit as part of its interim or temporary closure. Some minimal petroleum contamination was also identified around the area of the UST. There was also approximately 30 tons of chlorinated solvent contaminated soil removed as part of an additional excavation activity. The 30-tons of soil contaminated with chlorinated solvent were disposed of as hazardous waste.
