She is survived by her husband, two sons and one daughter, Norman, Donald, Miss Beatrice Schultz, also two grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Henry Koepsel, one brother, Fred Koepsel, town of Newstead, three sisters, Mrs. William Wolter, West Shelby, Mrs. Elmer Weber, Wolcottstille, and Mrs. John Pafk, Basom, N. Schultz, 79, of Telegraph Rd., Reynales Basin, died Thursday evening (Aug. 10, 1961), at the Medina Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for five days. Born in Wolcottsville, Nov. 20, 1881, he was the son of William and Bertha Wehling Schultz. Mr. Schultz was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Middleport. Widower of Vinnie Koetsel [sic] Schultz, who died in 1943, Mr. Schultz, is survived by a daughter, Mrs. La Verne Eick of Medina; two sons, Norman of Medina and Donald of Gasport; ten grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. John Rosenthal of Clarence; Mrs. John Eick of Middleport; and Miss Minnie Schultz of Lockport; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call today and tomorrow from 3 to 5 in the afternoon and from 7 to 9 in the evening at the Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, Inc., Middleport, and Sunday from 1 to 2:30 in the afternoon at Holy Cross Lutheran Church where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30. ✞MEDINA-Norman W. Schultz, 64, of 913 Orient St., here, died unexpectedly Saturday at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 7, 1914 in the Town of Hartland, he was the son of John and Malvina Koepsel Schultz, and had lived in the Medina area for the past 30 years. He was employed as an agriculturist at White Brothers of Medina, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Schultz; two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Eleanor) Davis and Mrs. James (Joyce) Monell, both of Medina; sev en grandchildren; one brother, Donald Schultz of Gasport; one sister, Mrs. Laverne (Beatrice) Eick of Medina and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, Inc., 38 State St., Middleport. ✞MEDINA — Mrs. Sylvia M. Schultz, 93, of Medina passed away Saturday (Jan. 2, 2010) at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Medina. Mrs. Schultz was born in the town of Royalton May 3, 1916, a daughter of the late Fred and Emma (Seymor) Handrich. She was employed at Harrison Radiator for five years, White Brothers Rose Corp. for 10 years and Fisher Price for nearly 10 years, retiring in 1980.
She lived in the Medina area for more than 50 years. She and her late husband Norman W. Schultz were married Sept. 16, 1939, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville. Norman died in December 1978.
She is survived by two daughters Eleanor ( Lowell) Davis and Joyce Monell both of Medina. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Denise (Gary ) Withey, Medina; Amy (Dennis) Conrad, St. Petersbury, Fla..; Jennifer (David) Lonnen of Medina; Angela Davis of Holley; Thomas (Michele) Monell of Medina; Kimberley Schroeder of Medina and Kristine (Randy) Vakiener of Haines City, Fla. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Allison & Kelsey Withey, Medina; Melanie Gemerick of Holley; Lacy (Loren) Gray, Texas; Kevin, Cory and Anthony Monell of Medina; two great-great-grandchildren, Logan and Lex Gray of Texas.
Also surviving are two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Beatrice (Lavern) Eick and the late Donald (Isabelle) Schultz and many nieces and nephews. She is also predeceased by two brothers Albert (Ida) Hendrick and Lester (Alice) Hendricks.
She loved to be with her family and friends and loved the holidays. She was a member of Fisher Price Retirees Club, Senior Citizens of Medina and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Guild and Altar Guild.
Friends and relatives may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport. ✞Jennifer Sue Davis-Lonnen, 41, passed away peacefully after a courageous fight for life at Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital, Buffalo, NY, on Thursday, December 30, 2010 with her husband, family and friends by her side. Jen was born on September 19, 1969, in Lockport to Lowell and Eleanor (Schultz) Davis. She graduated from Medina High School in 1987, received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Speech and Hearing Pathology from SUNY Buffalo and was a member of SUNY Buffalo Alumni. She was employed as a Speech Pathologist at Niagara County Speech and Hearing since 1994. She married David Lonnen on October 21, 1995.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, David; parents, Lowell and Eleanor Davis; sisters, Denise (Gary) Withey of Medina, NY, Amy (Dennis) Davis-Conrad of St. Petersburg, FL, Angela Davis of Holley, NY; in-laws, Donald Lonnen, Carol (Al Rowcliffe) Lonnen; sister-in-law, Deborah (Jeff) Grimes, all of Medina; nieces, Allyson and Kelsie Withey of Medina, Melanie Gemerek of Holley, Alexandrea and Victoria Grimes and nephew, Brandon Grimes of Medina; also, aunts, Joyce Monell of Medina, Shirley Peters of Irondequoit, NY and Carol (Vincent) Meli of Silver Lake, NY; and many close, dear friends.
Jen touched the lives and hearts of many through the years, especially her four year-old students. She loved her perennial garden, bird watching, feeding her coy fish in the pond, was an awesome cook and baker, the ultimate Organizer, and spent many nights watching sunsets with Dave on their deck in the quiet of their yard. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and more recently attended East Shelby Community Bible Church.
Jen prearranged to donate her body to SUNY Buffalo Medical Research Center for Multiple Sclerosis research. She had courageously fought her battle with MS for 23 Years. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the East Shelby Community Bible Church, 5278 East Shelby Road, Medina, NY with Pastor Erik Olsen officiating, and for her family and friends to share memories of Jen. ✞Denise Marie (Davis) Withey, 51, passed away peacefully after a courageous fight for life surrounded by her loving family at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY, on Friday, February 27, 2015. Denise (Dee) was born on May 25, 1963, in Medina to Lowell and Eleanor (Schultz) Davis.
She graduated from Medina High School in 1981 and attended Niagara County Community College before becoming employed at Permanent Savings Bank in Lockport, NY for several years and was also a Mary Kay Sales Consultant. She married the love of her life Gary Withey on August 1, 1987. In January 1995 Gary and Denise purchased Fischer’s News Stand in Albion, NY where she worked alongside Gary until September 2005 when she accepted a position as Community Relations Specialist at The ARC of Orleans County where she continued to work until her passing.
Dee was active in 4-H during her youth and performed with the Medina Mustang Marching Band. She was active as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving previously as a Sunday school teacher, a board member and on the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed music, dancing, NASCAR, reading crime novels, watching true crime shows and cooking shows and spending time with family and friends.
Denise is survived by her husband of 27 years, Gary; daughters, Allyson (Nick Fitch) Withey and Kelsie Withey; parents, Lowell and Eleanor Davis all of Medina, NY; sisters, Amy Davis of St. Petersburg, FL and Angie Davis of Holley, NY; niece and goddaughter, Melanie (AJ Gminski) Gemerek of Holley, NY; sister-in-law, Barbara Withey Williams of Sun City, FL; brother-in-laws, David Lonnen of Medina, NY; Carl (MaryBeth) Withey of Elbridge, NY; Mark (Debbie) Withey of Lakeland, FL; Kurt (Debbie) Withey of Albion, NY; Eric (Georgia) Withey of Spencerport, NY; aunts, Shirley Peters of Irondequoit, NY and Carol (Vincent) Meli of Silver Lake, NY; and many close dear friends.
Denise was pre-deceased by her sister Jennifer Davis-Lonnen in December 2010 and her aunt and god-mother Joyce Monell in September 2012 both of Medina, NY.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Albion Free Methodist Church, 25 South Platt Street, Albion, NY. A funeral service will be held at Albion Free Methodist Church on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Randy LeBaron officiating and will be followed by a ‘Celebration of Life’ service at the Elks Lodge at 428 W State Street, Albion, NY. ✞Joyce Elaine Schultz Monell A resident of Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Medina, N.Y. was taken to the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 following a long illness and most recent battle with cancer.
Joyce was born February 27, 1945 in Lockport, NY daughter to the late Norman w. and Sylvia M. (Hendricks) Schultz.
She was a life-long resident of Medina, a graduate of the class of l963 and she was employed at Blissett's Specialty Store and she later worked as a secretary at Royalton-Hartland Central School.
She is survived by her former husband, James R. Monell.
Upon child-rearing Joyce was a stay at home mother to three loving children surviving are Thomas Monell of Medina, Kimberly Monell Schroeder of Medina, Kristine (Randy) Monell Vakiener of Florida and a special daughter-in-law Michele Stone Monell.
Joyce's grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Surviving include 8 grandchildren Lacy (William) Gray, Kevin (Brandi) Monell, Cory Monell, Anthony Monell, Michael T. Schroeder, Nicholas Schroeder, Kassidy Vakiener, Austin Vakiiener and four great grandchildren Logan Gray, Lex Gray, Liam Regling, Sophia Monell.
Joyce is survivied by a loving and caring sister Eleanor (Lowell) Davis including nieces, predeceased by niece Jennifer Davis Lonnen. Also surviving is one brother-in-law Jack (Sue) Monell including nephew and nieces. She was predeceased by father and mother-in-law Ronald and Eleanor Monell.

Mr. Schultz was born in the Town of Royalton on November 4, 1918, son of the late John and Vinnie (Koepsel) Schultz. Mr. Schultz was employed at Harrison Radiator Division for several years, retiring in l975. He was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville and an honorary lifetime member of the Wolcottsville Fire Company. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris C. Schultz in 1988 and a son, David E. Schultz in 1964 and a brother, Norman Schultz. He is survived by his wife, Isabelle King Schultz; one son, Richard J. Schultz of Columbia, TN and one daughter, Donna (James) Crumlish of Asheville, NC. ✞MIDDLEPORT — Doris C. Schultz of 5753 Royalton Center Road, Gasport [built 1945], died Sunday after a long illness. She was born in Lockport, March 13, 1916, daughter of the late Carlos and Leah (Stride) Campbell. She worked in the 4-H office at the Niagara County Cooperative Extension for several years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville, a member of the Ladies Aid of St. Michael's, and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. A son, David Schultz, died in 1964. Wife of Donald F. Schultz, she is survived by one son, Richard J Schultz of Medina; one daughter, Mrs. James (Donna) Crumlish of London, Ontario; two grandchildren, Timothy and Thomas Crumlish; a sister, Mrs. Kelsey (Helen) Pechuman of Gasport; and a brother, Russell Campbell of California. ✞S. Isabelle Schultz (Bauer) (King), 100, of Middleport died Sept. 30, 2021 while at the Supportive Care of Orleans Martin Linsin Hospice Residence in Albion. She was born April 16, 1921 in the Town of Hartland to James and Annie (Annable) Noble and was a life-long resident of this area.
Isabelle was a 70-year member of the Middleport United Methodist Church where she chaired the Harvest Dinner for over 30 years. She was an expert knitter, having taught knitting at the Niagara County Cooperative Extension for many years. She shared that talent with the community by making countless premie caps, lap robes, hats and mittens for hospitals and charities over the years. Isabelle was also a member of the Middleport and Johnson Creek Senior Citizen groups, as well as being a life member and volunteer driver for Tri Town Ambulance.
Mrs. Schultz was predeceased by husbands: Emory Bauer, Robert King, Donald Schultz; daughter, Diane (Bauer) Grove; brothers: Walter, Donald and Frank Noble; and sisters: Lulla Timblin and Daryl Wobbes.
She is survived by her children: Mary Ann Bauer, William (Mary Jane) Bauer, Susan Webber, Sharon Kusmierczak, Steven (Susan) King; sister, Betty Lockie; son-in-law, Ted Grove; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport, Tue., Oct. 5 from 1-3 p.m. where her funeral service will be held following visitation at 3 p.m. Private interment will be in Hartland Cemetery. Schultz, 23, of 5753 Royalton Road, Gasport [built 1945], died Monday, (Nov. 18, 1964) at Lockport Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for 10 days. He had been employed as a laboratory technician at Carborundum Co., Niagara Falls, until his illness a few months ago. Born August 21, 1941 in Lockport, he was the son of Donald F. and Doris Campbell Schultz. He was a graduate of Royalton- Hartland Central School and Erie County Technical Institute of Buffalo. He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville. Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister and brother, Donna and Richard, both at home, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Bailey of Newfane. ✞Beatrice (Bea) Vera Eick, 89, born July 25, 1927, went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2016 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. A loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma, she was a godly woman who served others and lived out her faith. She was predeceased in death by her parents, John and Malvina (Vinnie) Schultz of Reynolds Basin, Royalton and her two brothers, Norman and Donald.
A 1945 graduate of Royalton-Hartland High School, Bea is survived by the love of her life and husband of 68 years, LaVerne Eick, a retired dairy farmer from Freeman Rd, Medina. They met through the Walter League youth group at St. Michaels Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville and later became charter members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Middleport. Bea was an active member of the altar guild, bible studies, a Sunday School and VBS teacher, and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Throughout their marriage, Bea was a strong supporter and helpmate on the family dairy farm. She loved to be around and host family and friends at their home. Bea enjoyed traveling to Virginia, Colorado and Oregon to visit family. She enjoyed travelling to Florida after retirement and made a special trip to Germany in 2002 with the Middleport Community Choir, making lifelong friendships.
She is survived by 5 children, William (Patricia) of Medina, Lee (Vicki) of Albany, Oregon, Patricia (Mike) Bielicki of Medina, Kenneth (Kelly) of Medina, and Connie (Jeff) Holt of Montclair, Virginia. She is also blessed by 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center Street, Medina on Friday, August 12th from 4 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday, August 13th (10-11) at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 133 Telegraph Road, Middleport where her funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 11 AM. Burial will follow at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby, on Salt Works Rd, Medina.

✞LaVerne Avery Eick, 88, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2016 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. Born April 7, 1928 to Avery and Helene (Schilling) Eick he was a loving husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and godly man who served others and lived out his faith. He was predeceased in death by his parents, a sister, Ethel Eick Button of Dansville and on August 6, 2016, his loving wife of 68 years, Beatrice.
A 1946 graduate of Royalton-Hartland High School, LaVerne retired after years of being an active partner of LaVerne Eick and Sons Dairy Farm on Freeman Road, Medina. He and his wife met through the Walther League youth group at St. Michaels Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville and later became charter members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Middleport. LaVerne was a member of the building committee of Holy Cross and served in various rolls through the years including President of the Congregation and Elder.
Together he and his wife enjoyed traveling to Virginia, Colorado and Oregon to visit family. They enjoyed extended travels to Florida after retirement and in 2002 made a special trip to Germany with the Middleport Community Choir, making lifelong friendships.
During his years of farming LaVerne enjoyed his positions on the Town of Shelby Assessment Review Board and as Director of Niagara Milk Cooperative and the Orleans County A.S.C.S. Committee.
