1 John 4:8-9
God is LOVE
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
John 1:12-13
Some Received Jesus Others Did Not
12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
John 7:17
Jesus and God's Will
17 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.
Isaiah 48:18
Following God's Commandments
18 If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.
John 4:34
Jesus Does the Will of His Father
34 "My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
These verses from St. John and Isaiah speak on man's free will...We are given a choice, a will, a free will to believe in Jesus or not to believe in Him...We can receive Him in our lives or we can choose not to receive Him...Anyone can choose to do God's will or we can choose not to His will...When we choose to follow the teachings of Jesus we are doing the will of God...Jesus said that anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether His teachings comes from God or whether He was speaking on His own (and thus meaning, He was not from God and heaven)...
Free will seems like a phrase that is always inherently good...Free will implies a freedom...But when one thinks about free will, is about the choices we make each day...Free will allows us to choose freely to be good, but also one can choose to be evil...Our free will offered by God and allowed by God gives us this choice...And God knows by offering us to choose what we want each day to do, that there will be evil in this world...And sin is in the world, because of the choices we make...
Knowing these things about free will, one must see much LOVE in the world by allowing free will...God is LOVE...And this free will from the Father and His Son, speak about Their LOVE...LOVE is the Supreme Moral Value...Love is the ultimate virtue...Love is the supreme way in which we can act and be...When we think about this, where there is love, there must be free will...Since God is LOVE, then we will have free will...Lovers cannot and do not want to control the ones they love...Control is not love at all...So God gives us a free will to give us control of our decisions each and every day...We have this freedom to choose and do and act freely...And by giving us free will, we see that He is a Loving Father...And by being a Loving Father, we have the right to become His children, children of God...Words that are great to hear -children of God...
And Jesus understands these things about free will and tells us that He chooses and does the will of the Father...In His way of thinking the will of His Father is always the right choice to make...
