I often turn to Jesus and His Father when I do not know something or have trouble understanding something...
Imagine that you have met and get to know over the last three years the Smartest Person one could ever met...You can ask Him anything, and He has a feel for everything you have ask of Him...He knows all things and has Complete Understanding...He doesn't even mind your constant questions that you ask...In fact, it seems like He enjoys helping you with His answers...You have a problem with you car, and He gives you the answer the appears to solve the problem...You ask about a stain in your favorite chair, He tells you what to do, and the stain is gone...You ask Him about a bread recipe, that has always seemed to be missing something small, and He tells you to add one thing, and now you have the best bread you have ever tasted...You even have a friend who has a bad cold, and you ask Him about that...You have another friend suffering with something and He can help you like a Great Physician would...He says tell the friend to take one thing, you tell your friend, and it appears to have quickly helped his healing...Jesus' Disciples got to do this...
So now you ask about something a little deeper...You ask Him about how to pray...He tells you, it is very good you ask about prayer...This Smart One tells you, I will tell you how I do it...He tells you that He knows of One who knows all about prayer...The Smart One tells you the One who knows all about prayer, and this One controls all prayers, among other things that He controls...
This Smart Person tells you that in the past you have ask things about this or that and they had a solution or outcome you wanted and were looking for...You wanted your car fixed and you got that outcome...You wanted the stain gone and you got that outcome...You wanted a better tasting bread and you got that outcome...You wanted you friend well and you got that outcome...The Smart One says prayer is more complicated...The One who knows about prayer, since He controls prayer will determine the final outcome of your prayer, once you have prayed...So when you pray, you should ask the One, who knows all about prayer, to do His will and not your will...Because normally a prayer does not affect just one person or just one thing...Prayer most of the time affects many...The One, who knows all about prayer, does answer all prayers, but the solution or outcome of your prayer and all prayers will be determined by the One, who knows all about prayer...
So reflect on your prayers and look back on them and see how He answered them six months from the prayer, a year from the prayer, and even five years from the prayer...See how the One answered your prayer, and all your prayers...In the end, because this One knows so much about prayer, He will do what is best for not only you, but for the one you are praying for, and all the ones surrounding the one you are praying for and all others connected to your prayer and in your prayer...So because prayer can be complicated pray not do do your will, but include in your prayer that His will be done on earth, like it is in heaven...
