John 1:1-14
The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
6 There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 14:1-6
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 6:63
Jesus Words are Spirit and Life Itself
63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
John 18:36-37
Jesus Testifies to All Truths
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
Mark 14:60-62
Jesus is the Son of the Blessed One
60 Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?" 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"
62 "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
John 14:26
The Holy Spirit as An Advocate and Helper
26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
1 John 4:16
God is Love
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
1 Kings 19:9-13
9 While Elijah was on Mount Sinai, the Lord asked, “Elijah, why are you here?”
10 He answered, “Lord God All-Powerful, I've always done my best to obey you. But your people have broken their solemn promise to you. They have torn down your altars and killed all your prophets, except me. And now they are even trying to kill me!”
11 “Go out and stand on the mountain,” the Lord replied. “I want you to see me when I pass by.”
All at once, a strong wind shook the mountain and shattered the rocks. But the Lord was not in the wind. Next, there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 Then there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire.
Finally, there was a gentle breeze, 13 and when Elijah heard it, he covered his face with his coat. He went out and stood at the entrance to the cave.
There is a sacredness and holiness in this world and it was with us from the beginning...From the very beginning the Word was Truth and It was Sacred...The Word has been with the world from its very start...And the Word remains with us today...The Word is Spirit...The Word captures our mind's imagination...The Word finds this place in our hearts...The Word gives us a Light, that make life have a meaning...And in this way the Word has a certain curiousness and mystery about it that stays in our minds...The Word brings us to the Truth and to knowledge and further on into wisdom, as it teaches us about faith and trust and the Spiritual Life...
The Word became flesh and made its dwelling among us, to teach us...The Word keeps us seeking Him for the Truth, because the Word came from God ...The Word is therefore, Sacred and Holy...The Word gives us Light, because the Word is Light...The Word gives us Love because the Word is Love...The Word gives us Truth, because the Word is Truth...The Word is the Way, because the Word shows us the way...The Word is Life, because the Word gives life and is life itself, and brings us eternal life...The Word came into this world to testify to the Truth -and everyone on the side of Truth listens to the Word...
The Word makes us look at things differently...The Word shows us for who we really are...The Word wants us to think more about the Spiritual and Spiritual things...The Word wants us to think about these deeper things and meanings in life, and the after-life...The Word teaches us the connection between the Spiritual and this life...In fact, the Word is the connection to The Holy and Blessed One...We get to the Blessed One through His Son...The Holy Spirit is sent by the Father in the name of the Word...The Word connects us to the Holy Spirit that is indwelt in us...Through the Holy Spirit our Spiritual needs get felt...
The Holy Spirit comes to us so gently and softly...He can come in a whisper, or a soft gentle breeze, as He did with Elijah...Sometimes He comes so subtly and gently in our lives and we miss Him...He maybe so softly and gently, it feels of mystery...We must be looking for our sacred and holy moments with the Word...And in these soft sacred and holy moments, that are felt from the Presence of the Word, it can make all the difference...Holy and Sacred are the LORD...
