Luke 24:1-5
Jesus Has Risen
1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?
John 6:16-20
Jesus Walks on the Water
16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17 where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18 A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough.19 When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened. 20 But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.”
We look for Jesus and sometimes He seems to hide...But Jesus is not ordinary or common...He is beyond ordinary...We must look for Him everywhere...Our minds get trapped in seeking Him...When the disciples were in their boat and had set off for Capernaum, to cross the lake...It was dark and a strong wind was blowing on the lake and something was approaching their boat, after some time...The disciples were frightened, and rightfully so...It was Jesus walking on the lake...He said it is I, don't be afraid...He says this in a way, seeming to say, what did you expect?...The disciples were tired from rowing three or four miles on the rough waters of the lake...What could be walking on the lake in the night and heavy wind?...Where was there Master, when they needed Him?...They were rowing knowing He would be on shore, on the other side waiting for them...After all He is the Good Teacher, why wouldn't He be waiting for them on shore...He can walk on water...
When the women went to His tomb, they found it empty...They were looking for a dead man...The women and we must learn from this...We should not search for the dead among the living...He can die and come back to life...
Jesus is everywhere...He shatters ordinary thoughts...He doesn't want us to seek and search for Him only among our ordinary thoughts, and ordinary places...He doesn't want us to seek Him only when we are in need, anymore He doesn't want us to seek Him only when we are having are best of days...We are like children in our search for Him...We have our finite thoughts, and He is infinite...He can walk on water...He can die and come back to life...He is divine...He is the Son of God...Our thoughts stretch to the breaking point when we think of Him and seek Him...We have this concept of God and He shatters that human concept...We are persuaded by what we learn and see on earth, and take this as our own world viewpoint...Jesus challenged this world viewpoint of ours, always teaching about God, and the eternities...
We do not understand His power, His ways, and His mysteries because of who we are...Jesus is divine...He is and was fully human and fully divine...He is two persons, in a sense...In a way, man is analogous to this...Man has a subconscious mind and a conscious mind...When we put stressful or emotional feeling in my subconscious mind and tuck them away, we get anxious, feel bad and have aches and pains...This disharmony in our subconscious mind and our conscious mind puts our lives i disharmony...These tucked away feelings have an energy and until they are felt we are divided...God wants us to feel our feelings...When we don't we can have a divided mind...We are in a sense, two persons when we have this divided mind...Jesus is divided...He is this mystery...Jesus does not want us to worry...He wants us to be in harmony and with Him...He wants us to seek Him in our hearts and in our minds and everywhere there is because He is there...
Jesus is a Man, if it is fair to call Him a Man, that stood up and said I AM the Truth...He frees us from all fears, because we can overcome death and therefore all fears, because He never died and this is the Truth...This is the Divine Truth...
