RaonLauncher, commonly referred to simply as Raon, is a mine launching mobile. Raon is well balanced with no major weaknesses or strengths. Raon's roaming mines give it unique offensive access to common hiding positions. Raon has above-average bunging capabilities in its S1 and a perfectly placed S2 will deal comparatively high damage. Raon can make some effective use of items and clouds and has low, but defensible, HP. Overall, the mechanic used in the walking mines can present difficulties, but Raon is overall a fairly easy mobile to use and learn. Raon's counterpart in DarkRaon is very similar except that DarkRaon uses asymmetric attacks and features a gravity-pull SS, making DarkRaon a slightly more complicated version of Raon.
Roan's S1 is a twin pair of winding bombs that launch in an arc. They will independently explode when contacting a mobile, totem, or ground for moderate damage (200-220 if both contact) and cause above-average land destruction when contacting the ground. S1 is preferable in situations where S2 cannot be landed reliably, to destroy land for a bungee shot, or to create a divot for an S2 follow-up.
With S2, Raon launches a mobile mine that, once landed on the ground will walk in the same direction that Raon is facing for a short distance. After that distance, it will become active and continue walking, exploding after another short distance or upon contacting a totem or mobile. If any mobile or totem is within a small radius as it activates, the mine will home in on it and even turn around in place to reach it. If the mine activates directly underneath a mobile, it will instantly explode for perfect damage, generally in the 260-280 range. The S2 mine cannot walk up steep inclines and will turn and walk back in the opposite direction when it encounters such an incline. Furthermore, the mine cannot cross gaps (with some exceptions of very narrow gaps); for any drop-off it encounters it will simply fall directly downward. The distance crossed while falling counts toward its timer.
Raon's SS is a larger version of S2 that will be in active form the moment it lands on the ground. When SS detonates, an S2 mine will be ejected from it in the direction it was traveling which will then behave like a standard S2. The secondary mine can travel to damage a second target or, given the right circumstances, be deflected back onto the initial target. The primary mine in SS will deal about 300-320 damage, and the second mine will deal an additional 240-260 damage if it also connects perfectly.
1. When attempting to land both shots of a dual+ onto the same target, it is advised to lead with S1 and hit slightly in front of the target as to create a hole for S2 to land into and remain trapped, thereby striking the target rather than walking past it.
2. S2 and SS can be shot into a wall to cause it to walk in the reverse direction upon landing. Furthermore, S2 and SS can be shot into wall to be dropped directly downward on top of a target underneath the wall. This will strike them in the perfect zone for maximum damage.
3. If an opponent is situated at the edge of a shallow piece of land, Raon can be spawned nearby and launch S1 directly under the target for a reliable bungee knock-out.
