DarkRaon, commonly referred to as Draon, is a mine launching mobile. Draon is a slightly more complex version of RaonLauncher, featuring a gravity-pull attack (a mechanic shared only with JD and Beetle King) and asymmetric mines. Like with Raon, Draon's roaming mines give it unique offensive access to common hiding positions. Draon has well above-average bunging capabilities between its S1 and SS and a perfectly placed S2 will deal solid damage. Raon can make some effective use of items and clouds and has low, but defensible, HP. The asymmetry of its attacks and unique ways its SS must be used in order to be profitable, make it a relatively challenging mobile to learn and master.
Droan's S1 is a pair of winding bombs that launch in an arc. One is large and one is small, and they carry correspondingly different explosion and damaging properties. They will independently explode when contacting a mobile, totem, or ground for moderate total damage (200-220 if both contact) and cause above-average land destruction when contacting the ground. S1 is preferable in situations where S2 cannot be landed reliably, to destroy land for a bungee shot, or to create a divot for a S2 follow-up.
With S2, Draon launches a mobile mine that, once landed on the ground, will create a small burst damaging nearby mobiles and totems, and then walk in the same that Draon is facing for a relatively lengthy distance. After that distance, it will become active and continue walking, exploding after a short distance or upon contacting a totem or mobile. If any mobile or totem is within a small radius as it activates, the mine will home in on it and even turn around in place to reach it. If the mine activates directly underneath a mobile, it will instantly explode for perfect damage in the 240-260 range. The S2 mine cannot walk up steep inclines and will turn and walk back in the opposite direction when it encounters such an incline. Furthermore, the mine cannot cross gaps (with some exceptions of very narrow gaps); for any drop-off it encounters it will simply fall directly downward. The distance crossed while falling counts toward its timer.
Droan's SS is a variation of its S2 which features an added gravity-pull when detonated, which will pull all mobiles or totems in a certain range in toward the mine. Compared to JD's SS, Draon's pull-range is smaller, but can be positioned and activated in places JD's would not be able to. The damage dealt is also greater at around 330-350 if detonated directly on top of a target.
1. When attempting to land both shots of a dual+ onto the same target, it is advised to lead with S1 and hit slightly in front of the target as to create a hole for S2 to land into and remain trapped, thereby striking the target rather than walking past it.
2. S2 and SS can be shot into a wall to cause it to walk in the reverse direction upon landing. Furthermore, S2 can be shot into wall or ceiling to be dropped directly downward on top of a target underneath, providing the wall or ceiling is struck high enough so that the mine activates before it reaches the ground. This will strike them in the 'perfect' zone for maximum damage.
3. If an opponent is situated at the edge of a shallow piece of land, Draon can be spawned nearby and launch S1 directly under the target for a reliable bungee.
4. SS can be placed such that it will activate just as the mine falls of a ledge. If an opponent is near this ledge, they can be pulled off this way for a bungee shot. Being able to pull opponents off of opposite-side ledges is an ability Draon shares only with Beetle King and is not possessed by JD, although JD can pull opponents back off of ledges if there is a wall on the opposite side that is sufficiently close to the target.
5. Draon's S2 can situationally allow for a high-damage shield break by landing the mine on a shielded enemy, destroying their shield with the landing burst, and then walking back to them off of a wall or steep incline to deal damage.
