Avatars are the representation of the mobile's controller. In game-play terms, every avatar possesses a pair of abilities and four slots for jewels, which offer smaller extra bonuses, of varying color combinations. Under each avatar's jewel slot listing, the following indication is used: X-X-X-X, where the following letters represent the corresponding jewel colors:
R: Red
G: Green
Y: Yellow
B: Blue
P: Purple
The numbers following the listed abilities reflect the level of that ability, which range from 1 to 3. For avatars with multiple classes, the numbers represent the ability's level at the respective class level. For instance, a mobile with B, A, and S classes might have an ability followed with the numbers "2/2/3", meaning that the B-class version has the level 2 ability, the A-class has the level 2 ability, and the S-class has the level 3 ability.
Obtaining Avatars: Any mobile received or assembled will automatically have a random, basic avatar attached to it. As with mobiles, avatar cards can be purchased through the shop using the in-game resources. Unlike mobiles, only three alike cards are needed to assemble an avatar. When a new avatar is assembled, it must be assigned to one of your mobiles, and will cause the avatar it replaces and any jewels attached to it to be lost. Avatars can be freely moved from one mobile to another for a small gold fee by selecting the corresponding option in the avatar tab of the mobile's information screen. In order to avoid losing your good avatars, you should only assemble new ones onto mobiles with basic avatars, and then switch the avatars around as desired.
Avatar Class: Like mobiles, avatars generally come in various strengths, or classes, ranging from (weakest to strongest): C, B, A, S. Avatars abilities increase slightly in strength at higher classes. The avatar's appearance from C-A will always be the same (with exception to 'Knight' and 'Crow', who have special A-class appearances). Otherwise, the S-class variant of avatars with a version in that class will have an upgraded appearance.
Avatar Rating: The rating given to each avatar is an estimate of their general, overall usefulness, and applies to the highest listed class for that mobile (with approximately half a star reduction for each class lower). This rating reflects only their general usefulness and may be higher for some specific mobiles and some specific game modes. Finally, the meta-game regarding avatars is constantly in flux and avatars rated highly here may become worse with new discoveries and common strategies, and vice versa with lowly rated avatars. These ratings should mostly be used by beginner to intermediate players to get a quick impression of the general consensus of each avatar's value. Once you become a pro, these ratings mean nothing and you may feel free to experiment and search for undervalued strategies.
Errors in the following chart:
"Heal Hunger" has been renamed "Hunger" and activates below 60% HP, not 30%.
Each level of "Team Doctor" heals for 0.5% less.
Each level of "Emergency Restore" and "Second Recovery" heals for 1% less.
"Kill Shot", as well as a number of level 3 abilities, as of 02/28/19, are not currently available on any avatar.
Availability: Free with newly assembled or gifted mobile. In avatar card tab of shop: "Avatar Card Pack" - 10 gems (not recommend), "Gear Avatar Pack" - 200 gears (not recommended).
Recommendation: Of all of the C-class basic avatars, only one is recommended for general use: Knight-C. Knight-C, arguably better even than its A-class incarnation due to its extra green jewel slot, is one of the most competitively viable in the game, holding its own against most A-class and S-class avatars. The large defense bonuses of Knight-C will typically give its mobile at least one or two extra turns of life. For single-mobile modes (Dual or Royal Survival), Crow can be a fairly decent choice for beginners who have not yet acquired a better avatar. Bani is also slightly preferable to the rest, besides Knight, for the quality of the S Autocharge ability. Because basic avatars are so easy to obtain, they can be replaced by better avatars immediately and freely.

Availability: Cash purchase only in "Special" tab of shop. Approximately $20 USD, price varies by country.
Recommendation: This set contains three cards of each avatar, enough to assemble one Roy, Anissa, and Yunin avatar. With the ability to heal both her own and allied mobiles for around 80-100 health any and every turn her mobile is under 40% health, Yunin is widely regarded as the single best avatar in the game. For players who are invested and have the money to spare, purchasing this pack at least once for one Yunin is highly recommended. Yunin is very strong on any mobile, and is with some exceptions, the best avatar on every mobile, regardless of game mode. Please note that while Yunin is a very strong avatar, Yunin is not a short-cut to replace practice and skill. You will likely do better with Yunin, but do not expect a massive spike in your win rate merely because you are using it. (Edit 01/18/20: Yunin's role in the meta-game has fluctuated significantly in cycles and at any given point she may not be a top ranked avatar depending on the frequency of use of counters such as Jessica or Poor Rabbit.)
In regards to Roy and Anissa: Roy is a solid option when trying to outfit a late-game offensive striker. Anissa's abilities lack synergy with most mobiles who would use it, but could make a decent choice for an early-to-mid game Ice or Turtle who might be looking to both buy time and secure a bungee shot.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "Ghost Avatar Card Pack" - 30 gems. "Avatar Card Pack" - 10 gems (not recommended).
Recommendation: This collection contains a decent mix of healing, attacking, and SS charging avatars. Its two S-class prospects are very usable for offensive and bunging mobiles. GhostSword would be preferred on a high-HP mobile to maximize potential 'Wrath' turns, and even better if paired with a team healing avatar like Yunin, Nasty Cat, or Diaochan. Kubo can be a solid choice on mobiles who have a balanced attack and land destruction approach such as Armor or RaonLauncher, or can accentuate bungee oriented mobiles like Bigfoot or JD. Mummy is very usable healer with two defensive green jewel slots. If you use two or more of the following mobiles, investing in this pack is a worthy option: JD, Bigfoot, NakMachine, RaonLauncher, DarkRaon, Armor, Blank, Turtle, Ice.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "Carnival Avatar Card Pack" - 30 gems. "Avatar Card Pack" - 10 gems (not recommended).
Recommendation: This collection contains a very good collection of avatars who are good at a variety of roles. Wendy is workable for mobiles who can work land destruction into their strategy consistently such as Bigfoot or RaonLauncher. Jessica is one of the most crucial avatars in the game, as she is the one of the few avatars able to steal healing from the powerful team-healers Nasty Cat and Yunin. Joker can be exceptionally powerful in the non-2v2 Score game modes where its ability greatly accelerates your SS meter and having rare access to blue jewel slots. Bear is one of the best defensive avatars available, granting a sizable HP boost and some healing, making it a great avatar for low-HP 'glass-cannon' mobiles such as Boomer or Malite. No matter which mobiles you use, this pack contains several universally good avatars, but if you use two or more of the following mobiles, investing in this pack is an especially worthy option: Armor, RaonLauncher, DarkRaon, Bigfoot, J.Frog, Asate, Malite, Boomer, Mage.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "Monster Avatar Card Pack" - 30 gems. "Avatar Card Pack" - 10 gems (not recommended).
Recommendation: This collection contains a few notable star avatars. Alice Red is central to countering the great number of self-healing avatars that are seen as some of the strongest in the game. Yeti is a very good option for any offensive mobile, and especially for glass-cannon type mobiles such as Asate or Malite, who benefit most from HP bonuses. Finally, Purple Devil is arguably the finest bungee-companion to be found in the game, providing you use it in Dual or 2v2 Score modes. For its two S-class prospects alone, this pack is a recommended investment for any and all players, but if you use two or more of the following mobiles, investing this pack is an especially valuable option: Blank, JD, J.Frog, Malite, Armor, Boomer, Mage, Bigfoot, Slam, Goss.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "R.Knights Avatar Card Pack" - 30 gems. "Avatar Card Pack" - 10 gems (not recommended).
Recommendation: This collection is likely the weakest of the 30-gem sets. None of its avatars have particularly useful or synergistic abilities. In its S-class pair, Archer could be reasonably effective on defensive mobiles in 2v2 Score or Pro Battle, where the damage boosts may outweigh the risk of constant double hits from the opponent. Blacksmith-S could make a case for being the best avatar choice for Ice specifically, and can work as a solid bungee-focused avatar in general, but it is usually outclassed by other avatars. The remainders of this set are uniformly seen as having little-to-no value and are only superior to most of the basic avatars. This set is not recommended for anyone except dedicated bungee enthusiast, particularly those who use Ice and/or Bigfoot.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "Alien Avatar Card Pack" - 30 gems. "Avatar Card Pack" - 10 gems (not recommended).
Recommendation: This collection features a solid roster of some highly valuable and usable defensive and SS meter building abilities. Both Kaka, Space Lord, and Koroni are able to prolong its mobile's life while accelerating its SS meter. Koroni is among the most popular and powerful avatars in the game and pairs especially well with Nasty Penguin in a strategy that enables first-turn SS charge on a dropped-in tank. Also included is Doctor M, known informally as DocM, who can be an extreme nuisance if its double healing abilities are not countered. The mobiles in Aliens appeal to a universal strategy no matter which mobile you use, but can be particularly effective on offensive mobiles in the mid-range HP such as Grub, Aduka, Adum, and Eraser.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "RoboX Avatar Card Pack" - 30 gems. "Avatar Card Pack" - 10 gems (not recommended).
Recommendation: This collection is fairly polarized in its value. On the one hand, most of the avatars here are regarded as being sub-par, with 'timer' abilities that occur too infrequently to be of much use. On the other hand, RoboX3 is widely considered the strongest and most desirable option for a great number of mobiles who can consistently use sky shots and super-sky-shots, and profit greatly from defense buffs, such as Grub, Malite, Slam, Arrow, and Lancer, and to some extent mobiles like Plaz, Adum, or Asate. If you intend to use multiple of the above mobiles, particularly those in the first category, then this avatar set is recommended in the long run (after getting a set of reliable avatars from a less risky pack first) for getting RoboX3 in A-class at least.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "Cloud Empire Avatar Card Pack" - 30 gems.
Recommendation: This pack contains avatars featuring two unique types of abilities; the "sky" abilities which activate when the mobile is in a position that is higher on the map than any other mobile, and the "wind" abilities, which like wind yellow jewels, activate when the wind is over a certain strength (in this case, 9). Among these abilities are a variety of attack and defense increases as well as healing. Overall, because positioning is so vital to the game and the highest position is rarely the most strategic, and the wind being higher than 9 is relatively infrequent and random, the conditions imposed on these abilities mean that these avatars are generally considered inferior to many others and, consequently, are not particularly recommended. Some mobiles who can make use of these avatars are Asate, Raygun, Beetle King, Grub, Ice, and RaonLauncher.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "JewelSeeker Avatar Card Pack" - 30 gems. Double-purple variants available only from "Avatar Card Pack" at low chance - 10 gems.
Recommendation: The Jewel Seekers are a unique set of avatars that have no abilities but instead have concentrated jewel slots of a single color (red, green, or yellow). There are two variants of both the B-class and A-class versions of each avatar. The B-class have either 2 slots of the featured color and 2 purple slots or 2 slots of the featured color and one blue and one purple. The A-class versions either have 3 slots of the featured color and then either one purple or one blue slot. Finally, the S-class versions possess 4 slots of the same color. The first variant of the B-class versions are valued for their unique double-purple slots, giving them the highest access to gold, exp., and GP bonuses. These variants are currently only available through the 10-gem "Avatar Card Pack". Having at least one B-class with two +GP jewels on the third mobile of a 2v2 team is highly recommended, as the 3rd mobile of a 2v2 team rarely sees action. likewise, using three of them on a training-mode team with up to 6 high-class gold boosting gems maximizes one's resource farming rate. The A-class versions are largely understood to be wholly inferior to other avatars. The S-class versions have high offensive and defensive capabilities that are consistent and do not require special conditions. S-JewelHammer is the most consistent bungee avatar and works extremely well with Blank, and S-JewelHelmet is perhaps the single most popular defensive avatar at high levels of play, providing one has enough high level jewels to outfit it with. Other avatars offer larger benefits, but either at random chance per turn or by meeting certain conditions. In all, the S-class Jewel Seekers are seen as a sort of consistency-over-maximization alternative to other avatars.
*Note: the rating of the B-class Jewel Seekers is a reflection of their value for acquiring resources rather than their strictly-competitive value. Competitively, the B-class versions are of rather low quality.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "Nasty Animal Set" - 200 gems
Recommendation: This set contains two extremely universally useful avatars in Nasty Penguin and Nasty Cat, informally referred to as 'Penguin' and 'Cat' respectively. Penguin is able to automatically grant any other allied mobiles with 1 bar of SS meter the turn after it is destroyed, while spontaneously boosting its own SS meter. Cat is able to mildly heal itself and its partner, and gift its partner with a massive healing effect upon being destroyed. Nasty Fox is generally considered to be subpar, but can function well on a late-game offensive mobile such as NakMachine or Armor. Due to the nature of their abilities, the Nasty Animals are of no use in the Duel or Royal Survival modes. If a player intends to primarily play 2v2 Score or Pro Battle however, 'Nasty Animals' is a highly recommended set for beginner and intermediate players as their first avatar investment, regardless of which mobiles they use.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "Animal Toys Set" - 200 gems
Recommendation: This set contains three complimentary avatars that each offer extra HP and a large amount of defensive resistance to one of the three primary mobiles types, "Machine", "Animal", and "Shield". The toy animals can be used to cover your mobile's weakness or to counter a particular mobile. The principal downside to the toy animals is that their utility is quite diminished in battles where you do not encounter the type that is resisted. On the flip side, the game and these avatars specifically generally encourages balanced typing and for each battle where you do not encounter the resisted type, you may have a battle with several of the resisted type, putting you at a large advantage. One recommended strategy would be to build a 2v2 or Pro Battle team with one of each Machine, Animal, and Shield type mobile which have FoxyMole, DinkyTok, and MongkoAir respectively, though they are very strong even when used independently. Overall, this set is highly useful and recommended for players at any level.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "Classic Set" -200 gems
Recommendation: This collection contains just two, rather than three, avatars. They are each a powered up form of a basic avatar. Knight-A is technically a very good avatar; the issue however is that it is barely superior to its basic, C-class counterpart, if at all, and the C-class knight is a free and easily obtainable avatar. Crow-A is relatively undesirable for its situational Hero ability, but could gain some traction in Royal Survival or Duel modes. Overall, this set is not recommended what-so-ever for its lack of comparative value.

Availability: Avatar Card tab of Shop, "Three Kingdoms Set 1" - 200 gems
Recommendation: This collection contains three avatars, two of which are highly competitive. GuanYu is one of the most formidable, pure-offense avatars in the game and would have great tactical use on offense-oriented mobiles, particularly those who come in late in a match from the 2nd or 3rd position, as they can focus purely on unleashing damage and are unlikely to be the most profitable target of attack by this point. Diaochan is considered a great avatar for her critical health stealing capabilities, which act to counter one of the most common avatar types used. This is a very recommendable set to any player, particularly if they have a sensible mobile for GuanYu to be placed onto, such as NakMachine, Armor, Aduka, Malite, Eraser, Trico, Slam, or J.Frog.

Recommendation: Currently, only Elsix belongs to this category. Elsix is a more offense oriented variation of Jessica and as such, its primary role in battle is to counter Yunin in particular, as well as Nasty Cat and Zenlis to a lesser extent. Because Elsix has only been released as a B-class avatar, its abilities are altogether slightly weaker than Jessica's, but the extra attack may be preferable in some cases and being one of just three possessors of the critically important "Hunger" ability increases its rating greatly.

Recommendation: While this set can no longer be obtained, it's usefulness for those who have it can still be discussed. Astronaut acts as a solid, basic defensive avatar, but is somewhat redundant to other, similar avatars such as Knight. Captain's ability to boost the attack power of allies has too weak of an effect to be considered particularly useful. Finally, Pumpkin Girl is an exceptionally good heal-stealer for being able to steal under any circumstance as well as having two green jewel slots.
