J.Frog is an explosive-jelly-glob launching frog mobile. Each of J.Frog's shots fire a glob that sticks to the surface of the ground which then rolls across the surface before detonating. J.Frog's attacks give it the ability to easily target opponents who are hiding behind cover and feature consistently high-range damage output. J.Frog boasts moderate HP but struggles greatly to make effective use of items and clouds. J.Frog's standard attacks give it moderate land-destruction options and bunging opportunities. Due to the regular precision required to land J.Frog's shots, particularly against enemies on opposite-facing slopes or small, isolated pieces of land, J.Frog is more challenging to master than many other mobiles.
J.Frog's S1 will fire a jelly glob that will, upon contact with the ground, begin rolling away from the direction of the shot along the ground for a moderate distance before exploding. If S1 is fired as a backshot, it will roll for a short distance instead. If the glob explodes directly underneath the target, it will do considerable damage of around 240-260 and leave a sizable area of land destruction underneath it. Prior to detonation, the rolling glob will pass through all objects including totems and mobiles. In addition to damage, this attack applies a -3% attack power debuff to the target which can stack multiple times.
Note: As of 02/17/19, the in-game description of this attack erroneously states that the glob rolls clockwise, which is only true if J.Frog is firing forward and to its right. When firing forward and to J.Frog's left, the glob rolls counterclockwise. When firing a backshot, the direction of roll for all three shots reverses. The same error is repeated in the description for S2 and SS.
S2 functions identically to S1 except that it rolls in the opposite direction, deals around 260-280 damage when perfectly landed, and rolls for approximately half of the distance that S1 rolls for when fired forwardly (Unlike S1, S2's roll distance remains unchanged if fired as a backshot).
Note: the in-game description of this attack has not been updated to reflect the shortened length of S2 as of 02/17/19.
SS will launch a glob that will begin sustained bursting shortly after contacting the ground. The glob will travel along the ground in the same direction as S1, but for significantly longer distance. While rolling, the glob will continuously burst until it expires, damaging any mobile or totem it passes near in the process. The shot will not result in any land destruction. How much damage SS does to a mobile is heavily dependent upon the length of time it spends near them, which can vary widely from just a second as it passes by to the full duration of the shot if it is latched onto a tiny piece of land close to the mobile. A passerby SS will deal approximately 300-350 damage whereas exposure to the full duration of the shot will result in enough damage to one-hit-ko any mobile from full health.
1. J.Frog can use its shots to attack from behind cover and attack opponents who are behind cover. Sometimes, the land the target is standing on does not have enough space to successfully land a forward-facing S1 or a S2. In these cases, it may be possible to hit them with a backshot S1.
