Lesson 5/27

Hi Friends,

As we finish up our discussions on healthy foods, we thought it would be fun to do a science experiment and math lesson with spaghetti. We know playing with food is a no no but in this case, it’s fun.

We are going to create a spaghetti rainbow....

Your grownups can boil the spaghetti to get it soft.

After it cools, ask your grownup to help you separate the spaghetti into 6 piles (early fractions) or as many piles to match the colors you are going to use.

Put the spaghetti in individual bags & count to the number 6 (or 10 if needed)

Seal the bag & let your child shake & observe what happens to the spaghetti when you add food coloring... this is called absorbing.

Lay it out n wax paper or plastic wrap. Let dry

Which color is your favorite?

Seal in container when you’re not playing with this amazing sensory project. Have fun.
