Chemistry-How can Red Cabbage Change Colors???? What does acid or base mean?

Materials:

Red Cabbage

Three clear containers

Vinegar or Baking soda or Lemon Juice

Cut cabbage into small pieces and either boil for five minutes or put into a blender and strain

Discuss what an acid or a base means.
