Lesson 5/1

Prayers & wishes at the Kotel!

What is a kotel you ask? The kotel is the western wall also known as the whaling wall in Jerusalem, Israel. The temple was destroyed in the year 70 c.e., but part of the stone wall that surrounded the temple still stands today. Visitors come to pray with people from all over the world.

You can write your note with a wish on it and push it into the cracks between the blocks of the walls. People have been seen to stand on each others backs to get to a higher point to place their note.

You can ask a grown up to help you write a note on a small piece of paper or a post it and put it on your wall. We hope your wishes come true.

Shabbat Shalom!
