Description:
The ancestors of what is now the Calor Khaganate were devastated to find themselves left behind after the departure of Calor III, having been left to rot in the wake of the Great Wipe. Since, then, the system has developed a "revenge culture", characterized by great disdain for other Gergitorian cultures and a tendency to seek common ground with outside forces. During the Age of Prosperity, the Calor system was notorious for consistently rejecting reforms and for its high level of autonomy. In the wake of the Dyromachy, the system's hostility exploded, being one of the first factions to cede from the PMC. The system remained mostly unified until the sudden unexplained death of the ruling Gerg in 3972, who had no immediate heir.
The Calor system and its colonies would remain splintered between warring factions, with the occasional truce to recover from calamity or fight foreign powers (the most notorious example being the Terran Crusades). This period of time last until 4231, when the Cerulian Clique eventually managed to unify the system. They would launch a series of expeditions into surrounding systems, conquering several major systems including Seymon Naut, a major population center. Seeing the heavy brutality displayed by the Calorians in conquered systems, a temporary coalition was formed against them by the Dolesmos Khaganate and the Clementinan Khaganate. The combined forces of both empires pushed the Calorians back to their current borders by 4423, when the coalition dissolved due to incompatible goals. Today, Calor continues to launch raids on neighboring systems and the Dolesmos Khaganate, though they have yet to claim or annex any major systems. According to accounts from Dolesmos and the Bletcher's League, they have, or at least are in the early stages of forming an alliance with the Hagbeadi, though the few Calor representatives reporting on the issue have fervently denied the accusations.
