Hollenhunds are the Hyper Evolution of Jagdhunds, belonging in the Hyper Evolved tier. They are fast burrowing melee combatants with moderate ranged capabilities.
Spawning
Evolved from a Jagdhund when it obtains at least 7 Evolution Points and its 10 minute Evolution timer expires. Once it does, it will Evolve into a Hollenhund.
Can be spawned by Challenge Watchers as a special mob during a Challenge Raid.
Can be spawned by Vigils during the third wave of a Vigil Raid.
Can be spawned by the Reinforcement System.
Unique Behavior
Hollenhunds are capable of digging through blocks underground in order to sneak up on targets.
Hollenhunds can only burrow in blocks with a hardness of 3 or below. They attempt to burrow into the ground when having a target that is at least 10 blocks away.
During the process of burrowing and emerging, Hollenhunds are still able to move around. It takes about 1 second for a Hollenhund to completely burrow itself or emerge.
While burrowed, Hollenhunds are invulnerable to all damage (this includes while burrowing and emerging), excluding fire damage and explosions, as well as creating particles of the block they're currently digging in. Additionally, while burrowed, the blades on a Hollenhund's arms will extend to pierce through the ground, damaging any targets above the Hollenhund. When a burrowed Hollenhund gets within 10 blocks of its target, it will emerge from the ground.
While a Hollenhund is burrowed, it has a 1% chance every tick to enter its ranged attack mode. When it does, it will rapidly dig behind its target and reemerge. Once it does, it will shoot between 2 to 6 bile projectiles, one at a time, every 2 seconds that deal 5 damage (x2.5 hearts) and inflict Biled I for 10 seconds. Once it's finished, the Hollenhund will attempt to deal regular melee damage again.
When a Hollenhund deals melee damage, there's a 25% chance the Hollenhund will bury any living entities within its range in the ground. The depth the target is buried at depends on the target's size, decided by the following equation: [target hitbox's height] x 1.25. If a Hollenhund's target is taller than 4 blocks, it will be unable to bury it.
Inflicts Hunger I for 1 minute when dealing melee damage.
Behavior
Hollenhunds are hostile to most non-Spore mobs, with the exceptions being Animals and Fish (unless Should attack Animals is enabled via the Config) and mobs included in the Mobs Not Targeted blacklist within the Config.
Hollenhunds inflict Mycelium Infection I for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage.
Capable of breaking blocks with a hardness of 3 or lower.
Cannot ride Boats.
Can perform short dashes in liquids to pursue a target.
Hollenhunds have a 5% chance to drop a Scent upon death unless they are freezing.
Hollenhunds will create Nests.
Can fall from up to 8 blocks before taking fall damage.
Hollenhunds have 1.0 knockback resistance, meaning they can't be knocked back by attacks.
Melee attacks of Hollenhunds have an AOE.
Hollenhunds can see targets through walls if they are closer than 10 blocks.
Able to utilize Kill Points to grant themselves buffs.
Present a weakness to the cold.
Hollenhunds are not influenced by Horde Mentality; they are lone hunters. However, Infected and Evolved will attempt to pair up with them.
Hollenhunds can be Linked.
Are affected by the Despawning System.
Will despawn during Proto World Modifier if they are at least 256 blocks away from a player.
Are not affected by Vanilla Despawning.
In regards to Frostbite, have a Body Heat of 3 and Enum Percentage of 5%.
