Wiki is currently undergoing a revamp! If you see some pages that are more polished, it means they've been revamped.
Hivetumors belong in the Organoid tier. They are crude, weaker versions of Proto Hiveminds.
Spawning
Every minute when a Brain Remnant placed by a Proto Hivemind on death (that hasn't been picked up or destroyed) exists, there is a 5% chance it will check in an 8x8x8 area for at least 3 other Brain Remnants. If it finds them, all Brain Remnants will disappear within the range and spawn a Hivetumor in their place, after which the message "Regrowth..." will be sent in chat.
Evolution
After 360 minutes (6 hours) have passed, Hivetumors will evolve into a Proto Hivemind.
If there is a Proto Hivemind within 300 blocks, it will instead despawn and give 1000 biomass points to the nearest Proto Hivemind.
Unique Behavior
Can see all players and sapient mobs (players, Villagers, Illagers, etc.) through walls unless they have Symbiosis. Also capable of seeing entities through walls if they have Marker or a max HP greater than 30.
Every 5 minutes, the Hivetumor will infect blocks within a 40 block range. She will transform normal blocks into their infested form if they have one. The following are all the foliage blocks Hivetumors can place:
Big Mycelium Growths (normally and 50% chance for generic foliage blocks)
Big Wall Growths (only on walls)
Decayed Branch (30% chance for leaf blocks touching a Decayed Log block)
Decayed Bush (50% chance for generic foliage blocks)
Fungal Roots (only on ceilings)
Popped Bloomed Mycelium (floors and ceilings)
Underwater Fungal Stem Top (only underwater)
Unpopped Bloomed Mycelium (floors and ceilings)
Wall Growths (only on walls)
When infesting blocks, if the block she is trying to infest is a CDU, it will be clogged, meaning it no longer works. It can be fixed by breaking it and placing it back down.
Is completely ignored by the despawning system.
Biomass Points
Organoids
For defensive purposes, the Hivetumor is able to summon a few types of Organoids, including Mounds, Umarmers, Usurpers, and Braureis. The Organoid can only spawn on blocks of hardness 3 or below. There also has to be at least three blocks under it (four in total), and mentioned blocks must meet the previously stated hardness requirement.
Panic Behavior
If the Hivetumor's target has more than 100 HP or 20 armor, she will panic for 5 minutes. Alternatively, she'll start panicking if her health is at 50%.
While panicking, multiple physical changes occur. Her pupil is shrunk by 0.75, her animations run 20% faster, she shivers, and she emits smoke particles.
When she first starts panicking, she will call all allies in a 128 block range to attack her current target. Additionally, she generates one biomass point every one second instead of every 10 seconds.
Linking
Every minute, the Hivetumor will attempt to link all mobs in a 128 block range. Linked mobs explained on the Proto Hivemind page.
Madness
Every 150 seconds, the Hivetumor will spread Madness for 5 minutes with particles hidden to all sapient mobs (players, Villagers, Illagers, etc.) within a 128 block range.
Wearing a Living Helmet MK2 will block the Hivetumor from giving Madness to the target.

Lore
Due to Hivetumors being less developed than Proto Hiveminds, they are unable to stay calm and focused in some situations, causing them to be able to panic.
The smoke is caused by their brains overheating.

Trivia
The Hivetumor is a suggested mob, coming from the mind of @malroktheiii in the Spore Asylum Discord server.
The panic behavior of the Hivetumor is a suggested mechanic, coming from the mind of @slasherwolf_
The inspiration for the panic behavior was when a YouTuber who makes videos on Fungal Infection: Spore, Karat Feng, who made Spore and the Sculk Horde mod fight each other. In the video, a Proto Hivemind started spamming Womb spawns, and Karat Feng described it as the Proto panicking.
