Leviathans are acidic-based whale/centipede hybrid Water Calamities. They're exceptionally tanky compared to other Mobs and primarily melee-based. They heavily utilize procedural animation.
Spawning
Has a ~26.6% chance to spawn from a Womb (created from a Parent Signal that occurred at or below Y=70 and met the water requirement) when it reaches 100 biomass or is killed at Age 3.
Has an ~11.1% chance to spawn from a Womb when it reaches 100 biomass (or is killed at Age 3) and the 30% incorrect spawn roll hits (~3.3% chance overall).
Unique Behavior
Leviathans are aquatic; they can breathe underwater and swim remarkably fast in liquids. Though, they're not as fast as other Water Calamities. When swimming, a Leviathan's tail will open up. While on land, Leviathans are only able to crawl extremely slowly. When on land, a Leviathan's tail will be folded up.
If a Leviathan isn't currently in a liquid and her target is out of her melee range, she will shoot between 1 to 3 acid ball projectiles every 2 seconds. These projectiles inflict Corrosion II for 15 seconds. The amplifier increases by 1 for the target per instance of getting hit by additional acid ball projectiles (assuming it already has Corrosion); this has no cap. The damage these projectiles do scales with velocity, very similar to how arrows do.
Upon a Leviathan being damaged by a non-Spore entity for at least 10 damage (x5 hearts), there's a 20% chance that between 3 to 6 drowned flesh bombs will be shot out in random directions from the Leviathan (this is per each segment). Drowned flesh bombs have a random chance to either sink or float in liquids. These bombs take 4 seconds to explode upon spawning and give either Mycelium Infection I, Wither I, or Weakness I for 10 seconds to all target-able entities within a 3 blocks range upon exploding.
Due to the large tusks of Leviathans, it gives them an exceptionally large melee range.
Hitting the mouth of a Leviathan while her jaws are closed does 50% less damage. If the Leviathan's jaws are open, her mouth takes x2 damage.
Leviathans are segmented entities. Segments are connected by stretchable innards. Their segments will always try to follow behind the main body. These segments ignore collision with blocks. If a segment of the Leviathan is damaged, the damage is diverted to the main body segment instead. Additionally, if any part of the Leviathan receives a positive effect or Glowing, all parts (including the innards) will receive it.
For each Skeleton that Leviathans kill, their armor will be increased by 1 (x0.5 bars); this has no cap. All Calamities (except Air Calamities) can do this as well.
While Leviathans are idle with no Objective and not currently in an Offshore Biome (excluding Mushroom Fields), they will search in a 128 chunk range. If finding an applicable Offshore Biome, they will set their Objective to the nearest applicable biome and travel there. When this happens, the message "Incoming..." will not be sent in chat. All Water Calamities can do this as well.
When Leviathans are completely submerged in water, they will appear tinted to the color of the water to players above the surface, making them hard to spot. If a player is in the water, the tint will disappear from any Leviathans. All Water Calamities can do this as well.
Leviathans are capable of performing Spore Bursts (explained in-depth on the Calamities page). The positive effects they'll grant to allies is Conduit Power I, Speed I, and Resistance II, all for 30 seconds. The negative effects they'll give to targets is Mining Fatigue I, Mycelium Infection II, and Hunger II, all for 30 seconds.
Leviathans have three possible custom death messages, being "<player> was eaten by Leviathan", "<player> was crushed by Leviathan", and "<player> was dismantled by Leviathan".
Behavior
Leviathans are hostile to most non-Spore mobs, with the exceptions being Animals and Fish (unless Should attack Animals is enabled via the Config) and mobs included in the Mobs Not Targeted blacklist within the Config.
Leviathans inflict Mycelium Infection II for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage.
Capable of breaking blocks with a hardness of 5 or lower.
Leviathans are immune to negative effects that are not above amplifier I.
Cannot ride Boats.
Can perform short dashes in liquids to pursue a target. However, since they can swim properly, this mechanic is never utilized by them.
Leviathans are influenced by Parent Objectives and Redirection.
Leviathans can become Rooted.
Leviathans can summon Scents in combat (different from Spore Bursts).
When below half health, Leviathans can summon Vigils in combat.
Can communicate targets and Search Positions with other Spore Mobs, very similarly to how Linked Mobs do.
Upon death, Leviathans place a variety of Biomass Blocks and Human Remains where they died, as well as Corpse Pieces.
Leviathans can be affected by the Womb Crafting System.
Can fall from up to 28 blocks before taking fall damage.
Leviathans have 1.0 knockback resistance, meaning they can't be knocked back by attacks.
The melee attack of Leviathans deals 3 knockback.
Melee attacks of Leviathans have an AOE.
Leviathans have a step up height of 1.5, meaning they don't have to jump to go up blocks that are 1.5 blocks tall.
Able to utilize Kill Points to grant themselves buffs.
Leviathans granting themselves Regeneration with Kill Points will receive it for 30 seconds. If below 50% health, it'll be Regeneration II as well.
Present a weakness to the cold.
Leviathans are not influenced by Horde Mentality; they exist as commanders. However, Infected and Evolved will attempt to pair up with them.
Are not affected by Vanilla Despawning.
In regards to Frostbite, have a Body Heat of 5 and Enum Percentage of 2.5%.

Lore
All Calamities are created to resemble a specific fear of humans in order to make them more intimidating. The Leviathan is meant to resemble the fear of large whales, notably the fictional whale Moby Dick.
With the large tusks on the front of Leviathans, it allows them to ram into ships, impaling them with their tusks. The backwards hooks on the tusks keep the boat hooked to them. They can then open their mouths to rip the tusks out of the ship, creating massive holes that cause the boat to sink.

Trivia
The Leviathan is a suggested mob, coming from the mind of @slasherwolf_ in the Spore Asylum Discord server.
The Leviathan is inspired by and shares a remarkably similar design to Shadow Leviathans from Subnautica.
The Leviathan uses she/her pronouns and is cis and lesbian. She is also dating the Gazenbreacher.
There was originally an entire other model created for the Leviathan. It was based on The Tormentor from Dead Space. However, it didn't fit the vision for the Leviathan and was scrapped. The creator of the model, Slasher, was also very unhappy with how it was turning out.
Leviathans were originally going to have a leap mechanic, in which when idle and in a body of water, they would leap out of the water. It was purely cosmetic, though the mod creator was having a hard time implementing it, so it was scrapped.
The Leviathan's innards glow in the dark.
