On 23rd of December, an 8 months old female cat died due to excessive dehydration upon reaching at the hospital. The case was attended by myself along with MRs. Ran Maya.
Symptoms shown are;
Decreased skin elasticity or poor skin turgor where the skin failed to return to its normal place which can lead to hypovolemic shock and organ failure.
Dilated pupil.
Rigor mortis.
Absence of reflex and breathing.
Severe dehydration and delayed fluid therapy treatment led to the death of this small cat. Therefore, i'd like to recommend the pet owners to carefully monitor for signs of sickness, especially dehydration to avoid happening such incidence to the innocent pets.
