My name is Pema Choden, and I am currently a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the College of Natural Resources (CNR). I completed my higher secondary education at Mendrelgang Central School under Tsirang Dzongkhag, where my interest in biological sciences and animal health began to take shape.

Recently, I successfully completed a two-month internship at the National Veterinary Hospital, an experience that significantly strengthened my academic foundation through extensive hands-on clinical exposure. During this period, I actively participated in a wide range of veterinary procedures, assisted in diagnostic and surgical cases, observed case management practices, and developed a deeper understanding of animal healthcare systems.

The internship not only enhanced my practical skills but also allowed me to witness the realities of the veterinary profession — from clinical decision-making and emergency responses to patient care and client communication. This experience broadened my perspective on the challenges and responsibilities carried by veterinary professionals and further reinforced my commitment to pursuing excellence in the field of animal health and welfare.

I created this site to document and professionally reflect on my internship experiences, share insights gained and practical skills acquired from working in the field.
