On 11 january, 2026, a pregnant cat was hit by a car and was presented with a history of bruises on the lower abdomen, unable to bear weights on the hind quarters and delivery of 3 dead fetus the day after the accident.

The patient was admitted into the hospital on the 3rd day and  confirmatory diagnosis like x-ray and ultrasonographic examinations were performed. Ultrasonographic examination confimed one viable fetus so 0.5ml of oxytoxin was administered to initiate the natural delivery of the fetus. Due to the failure to deliver the fetus normally, x-ray was performed. Referring the x-ray results, we confirmed that the animal injured its spine (Right sacro-illiac symphysis) so it was unable to deliver the fetus. Inorder to save the life of the  gravid queen the attending doctor decided to perform Caeserean section. 

The exploratory surgery followed the regular asceptic way of surgery with strictly applying the standard surgical principles. During the process, we found out the pregnancy occured on the right uterine horn but both the right and left uterine horns along with the uterine body was excised. The incision line was then closed,applied antibiotic ointments and soft padded bandage with purchased splints to immobilize the animal. Antibiotic medicines like neurobine @0.3ml was administered and the owner was adviced to return for regular monitoring and medications in the following days.
