A wyvern is a winged dragon which may or may not breathe fire. They are characterized as dragons with two legs and a pair of wings. The wings usually have two or three 'fingers' and double as both hands and legs on top of being used for flight. Unlike most other dragons, they tend to have relatively short necks and slender bodies, offset by a massive, thin and whip-like tail. All of this is to accentuate their capabilities in the skies, where they end up dominating. Their fire breath is weaker than other dragons', but they more than make up for it with their aerial agility. On the ground, however, they prove to be clumsy and sluggish. Their habitats are primarily on smaller mountaintops, and are mostly native to eastern Europe and western Asia. Because of their active lifestyle, they routinely eat several times their own body weight over the course of a week. Dietary staples for them include large birds, fish, and vegetation that grow higher up on their roosts. Because of limited space up there, they are forced to live in clusters, causing strong familiar bonds. They are very territorial of their skies and peaks, but are not particularly intelligent, their rough terrain keeping them hidden from prying eyes.
