Shortened to the name TAC, the Tachyon Acceleration Cannon is a magnetic accelerator that uses tachyon particles to shoot it's projectiles (mostly dragons) at faster than light speed. It consists of two prongs with special electromagnets lined up with one another to propel an object forward. Because the prongs don't touch the projectile it allows very little friction to occur. The primary purpose of the cannon is not intended for offensive purposes but a method of rapid deployment of Aegis Forces to a given location. If required, it will use tachyon particles to make their deployment invisible to push faster than light speeds and make their deployment is successful.
For the use of the cannon the different parts of operating this cannon will be broken down below with individual bullet points.
The cannon is first able to adjust to the size of the individual needing to be chambered inside, reducing chances that when the dragon travels out the cannon it will not touch either side which would prove violently fatal. The chamber once inside is converted to a vacuum space, then the magnets are charged forcing the individual inside to hover in the center. They then receive instructions to where they are going, and it is automated to prevent user death (though certain members of the Aegis, especially in the Elites, they for the most part control their own trajectory). The inside of the cannon is lined with lights to cue the individual that things are all ready before being launched.
The control center is located in the same area as the TAC cannons are. They receive information from higher command to tell where dragons need to go. Sometimes missions only ever have to operate within the limits of the Control Center. The technology in the control center is mostly dedicated to what the cannons are doing, filled with censors and advanced hardware determining where things need to go. It provides warning details for anything such as debris where enemy ships are and planet locations. This information is filtered down so the dragon projectile gets the important most concise information.
The Arsenal Suit is a marvel of technology in that it's designed to keep itself intact and limit it's effects on the forces of gravity. This occurs when the suit is pulled into alignment with magnetic force. The suit has properties that allow it to completely disperse effects on it such as being magnetized at the users will. When launched out of the cannon they cannot rely on their eye sight instead they use a mapping system to see a large space around themselves, giving themselves to see things sooner than their normal eye sight would allow them too. The second reason is when it comes to light or even faster than light travel, light begins to distort, necessitating the use of specialized sensors. This range and detail of the scanner inside the suit is mostly only used during the launch as it exerts too much power consumption for normal use, and has to revert to shorter range sensors during normal and extended use.
The Arsenal Suit is given a special kit for launch travel, it helps provide special sensors for travel at extreme speeds, as well as provide a 'shape' a shield, that the tachyon particles cling to, and provide an aerodynamic form for the launch.
These are special particles that when they require faster than light travel are introduced to the Aresenal Suit when the suit is being charged by the electro magnetic fields. This negates friction and when shot out the cannon, and travel so fast, it appears that they are teleporting to their location. The individual experiencing superluminal travel is nearly blind, but during the effects of the sudden decrease in charge on the tachyon particles causes a time dilation effect enough to react to things during travel allowing themselves to curve around things and avoid objects in space.
Utimately they use tachyon particles to move faster than light is necessitated by an enemy's ability to detect things in space, and the distance needed to be traveled as sometimes the time required to travel is too great. The TAC cannon is restricted to Aegis personel only. There are public records of fatalities using the cannon and errors occurring in the past. All Aegis members are required training on these and require at least one successful launch from simulation and from the actual cannon itself.
