Aitvaras are dragons that used to live in Lithuania before Christianity became common place. They were often viewed as demons of good fortune. There was a loose co-existence between humans and Aitvaras, given ones that lived in the wild would trade small goods such as money or gifts for food. These views changed once Christianity settled, choosing them instead as being malevolent instead of neutral or even potentially kind. Instead, they became known for hoarding, or stealing from houses. They fell under so much societal negativity that they slowly retreated from the land.
They are still plentiful, about the size of a large dog when fully grown. They are smart, and somewhat of a trickster, but do not mind living the simple life of co-existing with other beings and often try to live peacefully, making small kind gestures and such.
