Writing out a DUAPP

Step 2: Read this over carefully

After reading up, you're ready to fill out your application! Send it to icedragonkaturo@gmail.com and label it 'DUAPP - <character name>'. Replace '<character name>' with the name of your character without the symbols or quotes. Make sure this is correct or it will deleted without being looked at. Also a pro-tip: Don't make your character some some sort of super character that's invincible and can blow up planets. Read the theme. Pay attention to the formats given here, it makes our job easier when we process your app.

3. Character Name: (The name must be a single name with no spaces or special characters, and must be less than 25 characters in length. Try to avoid names of actual legendary creatures such as Bahamut, Tiamat, and Fafnir.)

4. Age: (The age limit is 1000 years. I know lady characters will wanna be funny about this, but you still have to give me an age.)

5. Body Type: (Example: Winged, Humanoid. This is for the literal shape of the body, the list can be found here.)

6. Species: (This is fairly open, anthropomorphic dragons are labeled 'Dreu-Kin'. It is recommended to use this species list to figure out your character. If it's none of those choices, tell us what you are, don't be shy!)

7. Element: (Example: Fire, Ice.You do not need to specify an element, but if you do, there is just a two element limit.)

8. Colors/Texture: (Follow the formats of this example carefully. Specify all colors, then use '/' to specify textures. For example: Sky Blue, Blue/Scalie, Scutes, Fur, Flesh, etc.)

9. Eye Color: (Eyes can be what you want them to be generally in terms of their physical appearance, glowing eyes, rainbow colored eyes. Shoot, just not literally.)

10. Weight/Height: (Example: 409lbs/5'11". The height limit for a Dreu-Kin will be 9'.)

11. Gender: (Must be male, female, hermaphrodite or neuter)

12. Affiliation: (This is like a job, or something you associate with. This could range from being a member of the Aegis, or Blood-Kin factions, or something as humble as an engineer, or a vinyard. Use the timeline to your advantage here to set up a character background. Or put in 'None' if you currently reside with no one.)

13. Quote: (A brief phrase, any sort of quote works)

14. Summary: (Summarize your character in a paragraph, tell us about your character)

15. Physical Description: (An image link works fine, but a written description is still required here, keep this PG13)

16. Background: (This is where you write how your character became the way he or she is. This can easily be the longest most detailed section. Write a story, have fun with it!)

Here's are some good tips for a background that we'll really like:

• Maybe include some real world history your character was around. You could make a space faring dragon that travels through space in search of something, or you could make a character that has long since blended into human society, not knowing that there was ever a larger forum to join.
• Consider the country the dragon originates from if it has one. They could be European and Asian, but they could also be Brazilian, or African. Dragons are recognized from all over the world. Some of them even have names given to them other than dragon.

Katuro was born as a Dreu-Kin on March 17, 1892 (Earth). He, like few at the time, was not born on Earth, so he ever understood the experience of a well lit blue sky, and the feeling of wind. Having spent his whole life in space, he enjoys the black calmness of space. Often enjoying the feeling of floating in a vacuum, to himself. Formerly a Veil Scout in the Aegis, he now has a job as an Engineer. His military experience though he does not talk on it, he still has his gripes about how he was treated there. Commander Drarus was the one who promoted Katuro against the norms of the Aegis. There was negative fall out which led to his quitting the military organization to work as an Engineer. A competent Engineer at that. He is a humble friendly sort who will gladly talk to someone if they want to.

Standing around seven feet tall, he is a touch on the lanky side but still physically built well. His head starts off with a long muzzle and it tapers out to six pointed frills to the back of his head, down the back of his head to the end of his tail are webbed spines. Back to his head we can see he has two silvery eyes with slit pupils. His underbelly is the darker shade of blue while the rest and his back are the brighter shade of blue. Katuro's hands are the three digit variety, with a thumb and two finger set. His digitigrade legs are probably what give him all at added height. His weight rests on the balls of his feet with two toes on each of them. His clothes are normally his black and white non-standard outfit.

16. Background:

Katuro was born shortly after everybody had left Earth in pursuit of USOM. Having hatched on the ship as a natural born Dreu-Kin, he was subject to being treated like a runt, which led him to grow up with a low self esteem. This also led to a rather directionless path, unsure of what he should do, and was convinced that at one time or another he never would do anything unless he made an effort to join something he believed would change him. So he became a Scout for the Aegis, but given that he was naive, and the usual individuals that make the Scout division, were too outgoing and contrasted with his inside personality quite heavily. It ended with him looking like a weakling, leaving the organization to become an Engineer. He would toss his hopes for being a Scout if it weren't for two things, if it weren't for his physical talent for the actual work, and if it weren't for Drarus acknowledging casting equally as much faith in him.It was in Katuro's time as a Scout that he was shy and had a difficult time dealing with others there. Still, Commander Drarus took notice and put words of consolation into Katuro to give him confidence. Even when Katuro should be talking to other lower more immediate Commanders he worked under, he still preferred to talk to Drarus, and Drarus let him. Eventually it came to a head, and Drarus could not do much to change Katuro's position, so Katuro ended up leaving scarred from his experiences, but Katuro recovered from them. The point is, even when people cast doubt, that Katuro would hesitate, and not be able to do his job. Drarus thought differently, and against Katuro's immediate peers, promoted him to Veil Scout. To this day, even though he doesn't get along with the others there, he still thinks that he could do the job, and Drarus supports the idea.
