The Emergency/Environmental Protective Suit, is as it reads, a protective suit. It's designed to provide a protective field in reaction to a sudden hazard. It was built to fulfill the need to provide immediate protection from environmental hazards, even sudden events such as being ejected to space. The suit takes on the appearance of a compact device in relative scale to the individual wearing it, and it is worn generally where it is easy to gain access to, such as the chest or neck area. The device can be activated manually or is activated automatically when it detects something dangerous with it's complex array of sensors. Those who are seen not wearing one are immediately escorted to go get their EPS device. It is known to save lives and is able to react fast enough to prevent rapid decompression.
Each EPS is created individually for each, and is tested regularly to make sure of it's correct function, and while it provides protection, when compared to specialized suits or the Arsenal Suit, it provides relatively weak protection.
Deployment: When the device is activated or when a hazard is detected, the device beeps before it is activated. The wearer is able to see again in less than a second, and hearing returns shortly after. The field deploying is often loud and jarring, especially when reacting to a space hazard (rapid adjustment to pressure).
Flight: In a vacuum winged individuals will be able to fly, considering they also know how to flap their wings in an environment with no gravity present.
Heads Up Display (HUD): Built into the shield on the upper lip of the device is a hologram projector that can display things in real space visible to everyone. Alternatively the wearer can use a lense provided with the device that shows the information in augmented reality space. The information provided is usually dangers in the immediate area, and the current state of the suit.
Energy Field: In reaction to a hazard, the field provides a bubble invisible when not reacting to anything. Powered by the prism-like device, it is the liner that provides various forms of projection from hazards. The size of the field is adjusted to each individual so no matter how far they reach with limbs no body part will be able to reach outside of the field.
Ballistic: The field has a limited supply of kinetic dispersion. While it will not protect the wearer from weaponized attacks, and even less protection from an explosion. The primary purpose for this is to limit high speed debris, and reduce the impact force of hitting something such as being flung into a wall at high speed. This is activated only briefly for those moments to save power, frequent attacks will exhaust the power and render the wearer vulnerable.
Radiation: The field deflects radioactive particles, though when the EPS is required to do this it provides the most stress on the system, cutting down it's run time, especially in the event of severe radiation it can drain the system very rapidly.
