Return to Subterranean Structure & Encounter of the Tar-Monstor
This is the summary for our return to the subterranean structure and search for the captain of the guard. Manawa, Kastor, Sidri, Runa, and Elzin participated in this exploration.
While Manawa, Kastor, Sidri, Novad, and Thag were out checking on the subterranean structure, I met a new guild member at the guild hall in Rockport. Runa is a cool Monk who also follows the Path of the Kensei. She agreed to join us on the airship.
Manawa, Kastor, & Sidri returned to the airship asking for help. They explained that the guards had attacked them and all the guards had been killed except the leader. Thag & Novad stayed back to make sure the leader guard didn’t escape. The leader was locked in the central room that can’t be opened from the outside. Wenzan suggested that we go up the drain pipe hole in the floor.
We returned to the complex and went to the room where the drain in the floor empties. The drain pipe was blocked by a thick viscous black blob. We tried to poke the blob out of the hole when it attacked us.
The blob grabbed you with a pseudopod. The black goo made you slow and unable to make multi-attacks. He goo would also engulf you. It was difficult to get out. The blob was immune to regular weapon damage. Magic was needed. We eventually killed a chunk of the blob.
Meanwhile the leader guard tried escaping but ran into Sidri. The leader attacked Sidri and Sidri has no choice but to slay him. We went back to the central room and saw that the black blob was still alive, but had a different outer surface. The surface was more leathery than gooey. The blob had two tentacles or roots that extended back into the two drain pipes in the wall of the chamber. It seemed to be pumping stuff from the drain pipes into the main body of the blob. We left it alone.
Thsg & Novad had returned to the airship. We placed all the slain guards and leader in the main drain room where the gooey blob first attacked us.
Runs and I returned to the ship. Manawa, Sidri, and Kastor went to tell the guard shack that the blob had attacked everyone and only they escaped.
A General and 2 Colonels from the Empire came from a Rockport and investigated. Kastor’s group took the General back to the complex to show and explain what happened. We think they believed the story.
When the remaining three guild members were escorted back to Rockport, Sidri started telling the Empire General about the Naga from stories he heard on the airship. The officials tried to get more info. They offered the guild a chance to lead an expedition back to the Naga.
Eventually Manawa, Kastor, and Sidri made it back to the Airship. The Empire knows about the airship.
The black goo takes strong alcohol to clean it off. We were able to keep the +2 Great Sword and Full Plate Mail from the Leader Guard who perished.
