To the Council of Grognards,
This is a summary of our latest expedition.
On the morning of the 8th of Winterdeep, Journeymen Manawa, Amabel, Hetch A’Kahn, Chillax, and Novad secured the tower and set out for the River Tribe Village.
As we followed the path toward the River Tribe Village, we began to notice several crude and poorly executed traps. They appeared to have been set very hastily. Because of this, we decided to leave the path and take a more direct route through the forest to the River Tribe Village.
As we neared the River Tribe Village, we saw 6 goblins riding worgs approaching from the distance. They were bringing a message to us that they had captured the River Tribe and the Chief. They told us that we would have to bring a tribute in exchange for the chief. After hearing this, Chillax took a shot at one of the goblins. All 6 goblins and worgs turned to flee. A chase ensued. Novad was able to kill one of the worgs, and Amabel was able to grapple the goblin that was riding that worg. We took him as a hostage. He spoke broken common and was called Sneebie.
Sneebie decided to cooperate by giving us information in return for us keeping him alive. In questioning him, we found that the chief of the Wolf Tribe is the “Mighty Wolf Winter,” a white wolf that we had encountered on a previous expedition. While questioning Sneebie, our lookout informed us that “many” goblins riding worgs were headed in our direction. They were being led by the white wolf.
With some difficulty, we retreated across the river. Some supplies were lost.
We found a small cave inhabited by 18 River Tribe goblins. These goblins told us that the Wolf Tribe had attacked them during the night, and took them by surprise. They explained that the White Wolf breathes ice that freezes his targets. They told us that many River Tribe were killed or captured, and others had little choice but to flee.
Before dawn, we helped the 18 River Tribe goblins get safely to their canoes. We sent them down the river with instructions to take refuge at our tower and we would meet them there, as their canoes were too small to carry us.
Before setting out on our journey back to the tower, we returned to the river to see if we could retrieve any lost supplies. There, we found that a frozen bridge had been formed over the river. We can only assume that The Mighty Wolf Winter put it there.
Here ends my summary of our expedition to the River Tribe Village.
After losing some supplies, it has become apparent to me that we need to take priority in developing the tower into specified rooms for dwelling. We have been focusing on reinforcing the structure itself. Please send more lumber and supplies for us to further develop the interior of the tower, so that we may have a secured place to keep our belongings and supplies.
