To the Council of Grognards,
This is a summary of our continued exploration to the west of the tower.
Guild Masters Amabel, Manawa, Rhys, and Wenzan along with Guild Journeymen Tandem, Fennick, and Immeral participated in this scouting/mapping mission.
We saw a regiment of near 50 Hobgoblins marching south. These Hobgoblins were wearing metal armor and possessed swords and other modern weaponry. We overheard their leader talking about meeting with three other regiments as they head south. This group is organized in a military manner.
A new tribe of Goblins has taken up residence on the opposite banks from the tower on the middle tributary. This Goblin group consists of 40 to 45 young adult Goblins. These Goblins are armed only with primitive bows, arrows, spears, and daggers. This new tribe is loosely organized currently without strong leadership.
We fought a creature that looked like a stalagmite with six long rope-like tentacles. We call this creature a Roper. The tentacles reach out and grasp a person, pulls the person close allowing the creature to bite. A single bite almost killed our strongest warriors. We were fortunate to defeat this fearsome creature.
We found a glowing purple crystal in a cavern. When we tried to retrieve it, the crystal shattered and emitted a foul stench of black ooze that made almost everyone sick for several hours. Beware of these glowing purple crystals if more are discovered.
We set out on our exploration midway through RiverChase. Our exploration and observation only took a couple of days.
We plan to continue exploring. We will send updates to the Guild to our tower.
