Georgia Family Connection's goal of healthy children, stable families, and dynamic communities inspired this effort.
We envision edible landscapes that act as more than just gardens, but as a catalyst for good change, in collaboration with community members. Regardless of their circumstances, our objective is to encourage families to build their own food gardens. The initiative targets key issues such as greater food security, social involvement, mental health benefits, personal nature contact, and urban beauty.
We produced varied design alternatives for home-made planters that can be modified to various conditions through a collaborative approach, enabling accessibility for all. In collaboration with community leaders, we hope to raise awareness of the techniques and advantages of edible landscaping, encouraging a feeling of shared responsibility.
A key component of the project was the design of a user-friendly guidebook. It provides people with the information and skills they need to effectively develop their own gardens.
