This website is an on-going project by undergraduate and graduate students in the Engagement Studio in the University of Georgia's landscape architecture program. 

In this studio, students explore the potential of landscape architecture to help people and to improve society. By working closely with community groups throughout the design process, students develop practical design projects that can transform everyday landscapes into meaningful and useful places.

The Community Landscape Lab designs with people rather than designing for people. 

We believe that:

1. Everyone designs. Whether it is in our choice of clothes or the decoration of our bedroom, we all create changes that make our immediate world more useful, meaningful, and pleasurable to us.

2. More participation does not necessarily mean watered-down design. A diversity of ideas, desires, and visions can make designs richer and more meaningful.

3. Professional designers can help communities combine their diverse visions into meaningful and useful landscapes.
