Summary: Prolonged exposure to demanding tactical environments leads to deterioration in solider neuromuscular function, which can be detrimental to efficacy and soldier performance. Army leaders want information on the physical status of their soldiers to inform decision making and risk management in operational environments. The purpose of this project is to provide military commanders with real-time data about their soldier’s neuromuscular function without inhibiting performance. This project uses inertial measurement units (IMUs), microcomputers, and stability metrics to collect, analyze, and communicate biomechanical of soldiers outside of a lab environment.
