Bridge Health Monitoring using Mobile Data

Summary: Research has shown with convincing evidence that Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) can be done using crowd sourced data from smart phones. Our project focuses on analyzing the Golden Gate bridge’s vibrating frequencies using information gathered from smartphones and compares them to the known frequencies of the bridge. We are attempting to prove that SHM can be performed using smartphones as a cheaper alternative to traditional SHM setups.
