Summary: We have created a computerized model for predicting the effects the new combat round on existing shoot houses and validated the model through projectile testing. To validate the model, we had to isolate the material properties of the shoot house shock absorbing concrete by creating our own hardened steel rounds, which do not deform on impact. Subsequently, using the program EPIC and the Holmquist-Johnson-Cook Concrete Model, we can predict with a degree of accuracy how the new combat round and existing shoot houses will interact.
